We were down in 12/2010 and now I am having “issues” thinking the kids are at their prime time Disney ages, is it a gamble to wait until 2013/2014 to return?

Who else is waiting to return? When do you think you will go and how does your return relate specifically to Fantasy Land reopening?

Mine are 9,7 and 4. We love WDW, and have gone for the last 4 years, but we skipped it this year. Our reason for skipping, being mostly that we hate the thought of going and having so much of it under construction. Now, having said that, we are going next October(2012) because of a wedding, and I'm hoping I'm not disappointed. Having said all of that-- I don't know that I could stand to go more than 2 years before we go again!

I am hoping there isn't issue with construction when we're hoping to go, Dec 2012, but not worried about missing that area... since I hear it's mostly princess stuff and I have two boys that won't care :goodvibes

It's KILLING us to wait, but we are planning on late next year. We were there in June 2010. Been over a year, and it's more than a year until next trip:guilty:

Us! Our last trip was in Sept 2010 and we don't have another trip lined up yet, but we will most likely wait until the Fantasyland construction is done. Our main reasoning is purely financial. We were able to swing trips the past 2 years because we were able to drive andonly had 1 kid over 3 years old. Now we've moved across the country and have 2 kids over 3 (and I am having our 3rd in 3 weeks). Adding airfare alone is almost $2000 on top of the cost of WDW.

We've supplemented this year with 3 long weekends at Disneyland. And we're looking at a cruise as our vacation next year, along with some west coast site seeing. And hopefully returning to WDW before our youngest turns 3.

Well, we go every year, so, no.

We will go before and after! :thumbsup2

I was just there in June and am not planning on going back until the construction is complete. Probably sometime in 2013.

Our last trip was June, 2010.
If all goes well, my next trip will be Jan. 2013.
It's an adults-only trip so the Fantasyland expansion played no part in our decision. If a new ride is open, great, we'll give it a go. If not, no big deal.

We were just there in February and probably won't return until 2014 or 2015.

Given that there are so many fewer attractions in the MK, I think I would be disappointed going when construction was underway.

We were there in July 2010, and were planning a trip in summer 2013 to enjoy the expansion. However, we've decided to go to DLR next summer, and postpone WDW to 2014. Our reasoning is

1) crowds - summer is only time we can go (DH is a teacher), and I'm guessing that the already massive summer crowds will only increase that year.

2) discounts - my feeling (and I've read on the rumor board) is that discounts are going to be reduced over the next few years, especially leading up to the expansion opening.

By postponing to 2014, I'll have longer to save, and hopefully the crowds will start to normalize.

We're going this winter for the first time, but if we enjoy it (I'm sure we will) we might head back for the remodel!

I think we may try a different vacation destination this coming year and hold off for all the construction to be over with Fantasyland. It is such a tease to walk past and see what's about to happen, yet you can't do anything! I think when it finally does open up, the park will be really busy for the first year of its grand re-opening. Think Universal with the Harry Potter ride. ;)

After our trip next month we don't plan on going back again till 2014. Mostly because I want to wait till Fantasyland is open but also want to wait till our baby is older and we can finally go to Disney without a stroller. :)

I think we're going to do the opposite. We're going to fit in two or three more trips before the new Fantasyland stuff is open, then take a year off to let the crowds die down. I don't feel as if we're missing out on anything with the construction happening. DD has always liked Goofy's Barnstormer, and of course we liked Mickey's and Minnie's houses, but those aren't coming back anyway, so really the Barnstormer is the only thing we're "missing" right now. That's no big deal, considering how many other things there are to do. :goodvibes

We are going December 2012. The main reason (I know this is dumb) is because I want to be in the Magic Kingdom and get a personalized ornament with the date of 12-12-12.

However, I can't wait to eat at Be Our Guest restaurant. I heard it should be opening late 2012, and I will be heart-broken if it isn't ready to go yet.

June 2014 we will be taking our son on a Disney Cruise/land vacation for his High School trip. By then everything else should be done in Fantasyland. I mainly want to see the Beauty and the Beast section with the restaurant!

We've got a couple/few times a year for the past few years. In 2012, we're planning a trip to Disneyland for something different. So, we probably won't get back to WDW until 2013, which will make it sometime after FL is done. So, we aren't really "waiting" 'til it's done, but we're not going 'til it's done. :3dglasses

i went the last two falls and am skipping this year. i am doing an adult vacation and heading to AZ/ Las Vegas. last year it was just starting and having those construction walls up and cranes over the castle did annoy me, so i decided to skip it this fall.
