We're going to the 11:00 am showing!! Soooo super excited! I LOVE PIXAR!!:yay::dance3::yay::woohoo::banana:

I had forgotten that it comes out today -- I think I will take my girls, we have some gift cards to use, this will be perfect. Thanks for the reminder! It looks really cute! :goodvibes Maybe we will see you (I see that you are in AZ too!)

We're going to see the 3D version at 5:00 today. My daughter turned 14 last week and waited to have her party at the movie theater today. We can't wait! I heard a great review on NPR this morning. I love Pixar/Disney movies!!!

We're going to the first show in 3d this morning. First day of my vacation and then tomorrow we're off to California......:cool1:

Already purchased tickets online for a late 10pm showing although we're not seeing it in 3D since there's only 3 theaters in Dallas that are showing it that way and they're not the nicest theaters in town.

We have tickets to see it with my daughter's Girl Scout troop a week from tomorrow at the El Capitan!

I figure we'll need a cool break on our long day, so we'll ride the monorail to DTD, see the movie, and head back into the parks. Gotta dig out my AMC Moviewatcher card...they don't have an AMC anywhere near where I live now, but hopefully my old card will be accepted!

Have heard great reviews of USAToday and Seattle Times. Hoping to see it tomorrow.

Not today but maybe this weekend. I don't really like to do movies opening weekends but for this one we just might. :) I'm planning to take DBF to see Terminator Salvation this weekend and we might also try to take the girls to see Night at the Museum 2 in IMAX if we don't do UP. :)

I'm looking forward to it too! Not too sure about the 3D thing though...

We just got back. It was great. I lost my Dad three weeks ago and it really touched me several times in the film. My whole family loved it. Now about the 3D aspect I don't really think you need to see it in 3D. Not that many effects. In fact they didn't show the Pixar cartoon short in front of it at my theater which is an AMC. When we got out we went into another theater to see the short cartoon.

We did see Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D and it had many effects.

Again I must say it really was a touching, funny movie. Pixar is incredible.

We just got back too, and I LOVE LOVE LOVED IT! So emotionally touching and great storytelling! I was crying within the first 10 minutes and laughling myself silly a few minutes later.

We elected to not see it in 3-D. 3-D normally gives me a headache. Our AMC showed the short "Partly Cloudy" before. It was great, but not my favorite. "For The Birds" still holds that spot for me.

i already saw it at 12:01 am this morning and i loved it so much im going to see it at 10:00 om again:woohoo:

Saw it at lunch today (by myself) and then my husband (who usually will not go to the movies) told me this afternoon that he wants to go see it this weekend (doh!). I certainly won't mind seeing it again. I thought it was a very, very good (not great) movie. Don't want to give too much detail - not a lot is given away in the trailers.

I enjoyed the 3D aspect. As the previous poster said, there aren't a lot of 3D in your face type things, but it really makes everything pop. "Partly Cloudy", the "short" film was pretty good too. The other movie previews for "Shorts", "Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs" and the hamster movie (G-force) were all in 3D as well.

I had a co-worker/friend ask me about seeing this. He wants to see it but doesn't want to go alone, he wants to go with us and the girls. So I told him I'd call him if we go. :)

It sounds very good, all the reviews so far have been great!

did they do anything special at your theatre? for those that saw it? for opening weekend i got an email about special surprises

I saw Up last night and loved it!

The 3D was nice, but it seems to add more depth than anything. Nothing pops out of the screen very much. If you're comparing this type of 3D to IMAX 3D (at least Polar Express and Monsters vs Aliens), it's not nearly as impressive. That said, it's still very good.

The story itself was very sweet. I teared up both in the beginning and the end. Touching, sweet story. I also adored the bird in it, but I'm a bird person and have two crazy lovies always flying about and driving me batty.

Party Cloudy was a cute surprise. I thought it was a very cute story. I love how Pixar can tell an endearing story without needing words. You care about the characters without ever hearing so much as 'Hello." That's good story telling right there!

All in all, I'd give both the movie and the short thumbs up. Not as good as some of their others, but still Up there. :goodvibes
