Who else has broken Christmas ornaments?

That stinks about your Disney ornament. I totally get the bummed feeling, even if it is just an ornament. We broke a hand-blown glass one a few years ago felt awful. The kids were little, so it was an accident, but still... I ended up super-gluing it back together (it's hidden in the back now).

Our tree fell a few years ago, breaking most of the ornaments. Some were absolutely smashed, most were chipped or "slightly" broken. I glued pieces that I could find but I still have a one armed Jessie riding Bullseye, a damaged Rex, and the worst were some Winnie the Pooh ornaments my parents bought for me when I moved out on my own. I still have them but they are all damaged to some degree. My daughter was asking about one of the today while we were decorating the Christmas tree.

Update on Mr. Santa - I got he unwrapped from storage - thankfully no more pieces fell out- he’s missing the wrist down on one arm -, luckily on that arm is supposed to be holding a teddy bear - but that never stayed put but I think I can cover up the missing hand with the teddy bear I believe the other hand is going to be receiving a glove if I can find a glove that small or make one which will probably be what I’ll have to do! I’m not sure why he decided he didn’t need hands🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

A number of years ago, our tree fell. I used to be a huge collector of Lenox porcelain ornaments. Needless to say, a number of them broke. I repaired some with super glue, but many were never the same again and some were completely destroyed.
...my DSis-in-L got one from her dad every year since she was17. About 26 years ago my DBro and she hosted the family Christmas party. About half an hour after we had left, the entire tree toppled over [they failed to put up ornaments on the side of the tree facing the wall, to keep it evenly weighted] and every Lenox ornament, except 2, broke. Plus it barely missed her grandmother! I was so glad to not have been able to witness the spectacle - her mom kept yelling at the children who were in attendance; she probably would have blamed my 3 boys...

Those Lenox ornaments are not light. I can’t imagine how much it would hurt to have a tree full of them fall on a person. I’ve dropped them on my bare toes and they HURT! I try really hard to balance mine around the tree. The only thing that helped save a number of mine was carpeted flooring. I had young children at the time and put the tree with the bulk of the Lenox in an upstairs room behind a closed door.

I have a little over 100. Some had no damage, about 30-35 were restored with a massive superglue project, but these three were shattered beyond repair. I replaced the snowman with the snow globe belly, but it’s been about 14 years and I still haven’t replaced the other two. I guess at least I have pics (I was trying to catalog them all for organizational purposes).

...honestly, I don't know how many she had [maybe 18 or 19...? :confused3] but I was told by my Dsis that she was hysterically crying in the kitchen - so much so, that her cousin was making fun of her. And, yes, I totes agree that they ARE quite heavy!

Last year as I was taking down the angel tree topper, she slipped from my hand and fell on the floor. Her porcelain face shattered, we had her topping our tree for 20 years so I was so bummed. I ended up buying a lighted star instead at the end of Christmas clearance once I broke it. I totally forgot I broke the angel until we were putting up the tree the other day and went to pull out the box she was kept in.
Could you have replaced the face or head? I know craft stores and Amazon sell the heads in various sizes for people who make dolls. I assume you no longer have the angel though . . . It is sad when you lose a decoration associated with so many holiday celebrations.

I have never broken an ornament myself, but occasionally someone else would drop one in the process of decorating or undecorating the tree, or wouldn’t pack one correctly and it would get broken in storage.

I thought of that but it just seemed like more work than it was worth. My husband always had a star on his tree top growing up and we always had an angel. I figure now it’s his turn to have his tree tradition instead I got a pretty lighted star.

We had a few that were broken in a cat-related tree climbing incident, but the ones that were special were thankful glue-able.

Hugs to those who lost important ones.

We've had a rough year with decorations/ornaments the last 2 days. When DH was bringing up the big tree, he bumped a ceramic Santa that my Mom painted in ceramics class back in the early 80's - it hit the floor and shattered into a million pieces. Later when we were putting the ornaments on, we dropped 3 different ones that shattered!!!
