Who else has a long wait??

Sept 2009!!!!! Hey, it's ONLY 527 days away I am trying really hard not to think about it too much (yeah, right, that will happen.) But I went on a cruise in Feb that I had spent 14 months planning so I had to jump back in to planning something. What better than DS's first trip to DL and DD's first that she will actually remember (she was 14 mths old the last time we went.) I have just found the DIS boards so I am still soaking it all in. I have been to DL too many times to count and I have still learned so many new things here.

We're planning a trip for late June/early July 2009! We're booking around a convention for DH so the dates can't be moved up . We just went last August so it will be less than 2 years between trips.

In the meantime, we're looking forward to a 10 day cruise to Alaska in just 2 more months!

Sept 8-12. I'm taking my DH for his first DL trip! That's right I said his first DL trip ever!
My mother feels this is a case of child abuse.

November for us. It seems so far away. Reading the DIS boards everyday. Can't quite decide if it is helping or hindering . Either way, it is way too long. Spring and summer can't go by fast enough. Especially when it seems like spring will never come (we got a foot of snow today. Crazy, eh?) The worst part of all of this is that we wait and wait and wait till our trip and then in the blink of an eye it is over and the wait begins again. I NEED TO GO TO DL RIGHT NOW!!

I have gone back to school and have decided to wait on Disneyland until I am finished.

Last day of school: June 19, 2009
Disneyland: June 21, 2009

The waiting is torture but worth it.

I don't do well with long waits. LOL Last year our only trip was SUPPOSED to be in October. But with everyone planning their summer trips I just couldn't take it! So we went in June AND in October!!

Thankfully we're going the first week of June, so not too long. Even though I'm getting anxious. LOL

I'm down to 4 months now, but my ticker did start 18 months ago, so I have been counting months for ages!! However I did just get a small Disney fix as I have just got back from 4 days at Disneyland Paris!!

Sept 27 we leave and 1 October will be our first DL day!!!

I remeber when we started looking & pricing last October, and the furthest we could look in advance was the end of September. Now if I need to look on a accom calendar the dates go to March!!!

Seriously though, it has been a l o n g time, but I take it day by day. Something will happen and I won't notice the calendar for a few days, then something else. And before you know it we're under 6 months to go

I can't remember who said, and I may be paraphrasing, "the closer you get the further it seems away." How true for all of us waiting!

But just to add to the waiting game, we have played with the idea of going away, including DL, and New York, probably late 2010. DD is probably a little too young yet for the entire flight from Sydney. We decided to find out if DD's cousin (and her best friend) would like to go, so we mentioned in passing to BIL & SIL, who said yes, but "can you estimate the price it for us." At least the girls don't know what we're planning! Or what I'm estimating!

August 2009. Long wait, but we are leaving next week for the Eastern Caribbean and after our return I can start researching our first DLR visit.

Looks like it will be a couple of years for me...

We just got back, and I've been informed that we can't go to Disneyland on every holiday...
So the next one will be in Italy, but it doesn't look like it will be happening until May 2010...

Well...I started planning a trip last August/Sept to go the end of January (included Superbowl sunday- wouldv'e been great too it rained) but my husband got laid off so I angrily deleted all Disney related fav's on the computer, cancelled hotel reservations. Well husband got a great job within a few weeks and after a month or so I decided we were back on, coming back new and improved- fav's organized even and after 3 months more research- better hotel ;-) Anyway, my 19 year old daughter is pregnant (personally thrilled) and due in Oct so that will keep me busy event though she's not living at home, there is this silly thing called an election that is proving very interesting although if Hilary does not win the primary I won't be giving any of myself to it like I have before. I am volunteering for an animal rescue organization/ thrift shop one day a week which I plan to keep on with becuse I have an ulterior motive-- I need someone to scoop my 13 cats litterboxes once a day while we are gone for more than a week lol. Oh yes I work 25-40 hours a week and I'm the store Union steward.

We will be there at the same time and it will be my husbands first trip too. I will have a hard time when we first go through the gates watching his face and my 3 munchkins plus I am sure I will have tears in my eyes because I will be sooooo excited and happy to be there.

Well our next trip to DisneyLAND won't be till April 09 which is tough because the last two years in a row we have had Annual Passes and this year decided to let ours expire which is going to be rough because we REALLY got a lot of use out of ours. We probably took 4 trips a year in the last 2 years that we had them so we got REALLY spoiled. Our last trip was in February of this year for a week so we were JUST there and our next trip is to Disney WORLD in November of this year so we ARE going to Disney just not Disney LAND. It is going to be weird though cuz I have never gone more than a year in between trips but because of our trip to the "world" we spread it out a bit. So we are taking my daughter for her birthday next April.

I am def going to go through some serious withdrawals though because as much as I love the world it is just not the same as the land!

We are planning for March or April of 2009...I want to go earlier, but as a previous poster noted, my DH has said that EVERY vacation cannot be Disneyland. So, our annual pilgrimage is going to be it.

One thought I had is that I can just take our girls on vacation in the fall and he can stay home...since he doens't like Disney that much.... but he doesn't like that idea too much either.

October... I think. We went for the FIRST time ever, March 23-26th, but oldest of our 3 DDs (DD12) got sick. She ended up seeing only a few things. We felt so bad... we'd planned carefully and spent a lot (GCH, Fantasmic PS, etc.) and she really didn't have a good time. SO, I floated the idea past DH that just she and I should have a "do over" trip during Fall break, Oct. 12-16th. The younger two seem ok with it, they realized she really didn't get to do very much, certainly not as much as they did.

Now I'm really looking forward to it! She and I love the same things, and she is at a fun age.
