Who does the grocery shopping??

I just got back now and saw this thread. I DREAD it and it never seems to go away! I go once a week but it feels like much more than that. And of course, I get home and realize that I forgot something AGAIN!

Me. If I bring DH and DD along, we end up with all kinds of extra junk food and a much higher total at the cash register.

Ditto what grinninghost said!!

Also - who ever said that they did the shopping as a family - that's how we did it when I was growing up! Every Friday night the entire family went to the grocery store and then we got to go to GC Murphy's!!:Pinkbounc

Marla,
I'm embarrassed to say that I am at the grocery store about 4-5 times a week!:( I've already been there today!:o

We both shop together.

I go myself every Thursday morning after I take the kids to school.

ME - I feel I do better sticking to a list, stocking up on sale items and using coupons

Me. I absolutely LOVE grocery stores. So much so that when we visit another part of the world, I have to snoop and wander into a food store, a farm market, etc., etc., etc.... (I know, I know.....what can I tell you......)

I do most of it but DH doesn't mind picking up a few things now and then.

I do, because grocery shopping in the islands is an adventure. You never know what they're going to have. So I have to plan my weekly meals as I shop.

When DH and I are in the States, we both go. It's one of the highlights of our trips. It's like going to an amusement park for us. We'll each take a cart and then we're off like Supermarket Sweepers. I usually end up hyperventilating over the choices. I've been known to scream things like:
Holy smokes honey !!!! They have 3 different kinds of Triscuits!!!!

I also break down into tears in the produce section. You have no idea what it means to walk through a well stocked produce section. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

DH used to do all of it. I think he got burnt out because we now both do it, either alone or together, depending on his schedule.

I stock up on paper products on sale at Eckerdts, buying 20 rolls of paper towel and TP at a time. I also buy 40 lb bags of pet food and kitty litter, and multiples of whatever is on sale. If I shop this way, I only need to pick up a few things every week. I'd like to say I use coupons but I've gotten lazy. It seems to work out the same $$ if I use them or don't.

DH likes to shop on Fridays & Saturdays for the free samples. He kills me! Little bits of food on tooth picks are not my idea of dinner, at least not at the grocery store. ;)

We do it together. It is a Saturday morning ritual for us. Sure we end up with some extra stuff in the cart, but that's ok. I like the time we spend together and it is easy to make decisions for the coming week as well.

Me and I hate to grocery shop!

I do ours, sometimes with dd, normally on the weekend and he does the pick up bread and milk trips during the week.

I normally enjoy going but DD hates going with me. She uses every excuse in the book not to go grocery shopping with me.

I do. When my wife does it, she comes home with a bunch of junk food. I go Friday mornings about 9 AM.
