DH started doing all of the grocery shopping in our house a couple of months back. I go through the ads and write the list, but he'll take DS2 and off they go. With FIL being sick now, I've started having to do it and realized just how much I hate doing it. Who does the grocery shopping in your home?

My DW does. I did it while she was pregnant but she left me a detailed list and aisle map to follow.

Me. If I bring DH and DD along, we end up with all kinds of extra junk food and a much higher total at the cash register.

i do. but i do all the shopping in our house.

We used to go together on Sunday mornings, way back. Then DH got sick of having to wait for me to get ready,so he took it over. When we had kids, he decided he would continue to do it, take the kid(s) and give me that time on Sunday mornings to myself. Of course now that the kids are 6 & 3, its become a trade off..."I kept them home last week, so you can take them this week";)
Although, with DS#2 starting preschool next year, that will free up 2 mornings a week for me with no kids, so I may start doing it then.

We do it together once every two or three weeks. DH grumbles but he goes. He picks up the kitty litter, laundry detergent and meats (chicken, turkey or fish) while I do the rest and we meet in the last aisle.

I do - not only for me and dd - plus for mom and aunt - the grocery store loves to see me every week

It's a husband and wife kind of thing. Every Friday night the two of us head out to Shoprite. I wanted to avoid it this Friday as it is Valentine's Day, but DH said he wanted to do it together as usual because it was a nice couples thing.

Usually we all go. DH, DS (15), DD(12) and myself.

DH usually does it. But lately, we have been doing it together...taking along DD's. I actually enjoy it....I know.....weird...

I usually do any major grocery shopping while DH almost always makes those little trips on his way home if we are out of milk or need something extra for dinner, etc.

If I send DH for more than 5 items I usually end up with him on the phone for half of the time he is gone answering questions. What brand of green beans do you use? What size? French-cut? What kind of laundry detergent do we use? (The same kind we have used for 5 years. ) I swear DH doesn't live in the same house that I do since he apparently never pays attention to anything.

Grinningghost: The same thing happens in my house if my DH goes grocery shopping with me. DD says the same thing happens if she takes her DH grocery shopping with her. Wonder if it is a genetic thing with all DH'S?

It's just the kids and I when we go grocery shopping. For some reason if my husband tags along the bill doubles!! :D

I usually do it. If DH goes he brings home donuts, Cheetos, Soda, bread - no meat, nothing to cook with. If I keep the house stocked, he won't go. He does use coupons though:p

Lately, I do it, along with DS. We've made it a Saturday morning ritual once DW started chemo. It gets us out of the house for a while and lets DW get a little more rest and quiet on the weekends. :)
