Who Does Character Meals Without Kids?

DH is 61 & I am 52 - we just got back from WDW and loved the breakfast @ CP. I have the cutest pics of both of us with all the characters & plan to use one for our Christmas card pic. DD is 20 & away at college and could care less about WDW or the character interaction. We have an absolutely blast each time we go - did the Cinderella dinner at GF 2 years ago & got alot of strange glances from others, but really didn't care. I got a picture of myself with Prince Charming and my own Prince Charming!! :cool1: Plus the food is always good & at least with a buffet there's always something for the picky eater in the bunch (me)!!princess:

DH and I went in 2003, a last "big kid" vacation before we started having kids and we had a blast. We did Chef Mickey's, and the characters were great. They always make sure to interact w/ the big kids too.

We also got autograph books and stood in line waiting for all of our favorite characters. Then we'd get a photo and an autograph. It is one of my best memories from our trip. We really cut loose and just figured if anyone looked sideways at 'em, well, then they just didn't know what they were missing. And, all told, we weren't the only grown-ups doing the meals solo, or the only ones waiting for pics. (We may have been the only ones w/ autographs, but so be it.)

Edit: I should add that we are going in November with DS (2 1/2) and doing 3 character meals and I am still excited b/c I love 'em, but I'm so excited to see his reaction too! I think its a tie btw me and the toddler for who is looking forward to this vacation more.

Do what you want. Disney is about having a blast, cutting loose and being immersed in the magic.

My husband and I have been to 1900 Park fare and Chef Mickey's before my daughter was born. We had a blast and now our DD who is 2 loves to look at our pics from eating with the characters.

To me if you are going to Disney.... without kids.... as an adult.... AGAIN... then if you don't do character dining there may be something wrong:dance3:

I am 29 and Disney is in my soul!!!! I still get giddy seeing the Characters and what a perfect way by dining with them.

BEFORE our DD we would go (before we were married too). We went to a bunch on our Honeymoon in WDW.
NOW with the DD its gonna be a Pre-req!

And if you are going with your parents ... ROCK ON! My mother doesn't get my love for Walts Imagination... It was something that My Grandparents introduced me to and maybe it was because she didn't get them:rotfl: (Inlaws)
I wish I could share this passion with her!!!!
We are going in a few weeks with DD and my DH's Mom.

There haven't been kids in my bunch since I was a kid. So we do them all the time. Though we are due with my first in December, so we might start the kid thing up again soon :teeth:

 Not just with no kids, but I've gone to several character meals solo. I've found it's so much fun to watch the characters interacting with everyone. And I've found a real easy way to get a picture with a character. Last time, at Cape May, I told Minnie, "Boy, I'd love it if there were someone to take my picture with you." She grabbed my camera and handed it to the man at the next table. Here's the result:

Just wondering how many of us out there go to character meals that have no kids, or who are not married, or go with older family etc?

I have 3 Character Meals set in my ADR's and I kinda feel funny LOL I have never been and just wanna see what the hoopala is all about

We are 58,58,& 28 obviously no kids, just kids at heart?

All for Breakfast:
1900 Park Fare
Chef Mickey's
Crystal Palace

My husband and I have been to Cape May and Chef Mickey's for breakfast, and loved it both times! The characters always stop at our table just like they do with the families, and we have so much fun!! I can't wait to go to Crystal Palace on our next trip!!! :)

My Dfi and I always do character meals every trip: CRT, Chef Mickey's, and Garden Grill. We love the characters... it's the best way to get some pictures when it's busy without having to wait in line to get pictures in the park. I think these restaurants are much more fun.

DBF and I do character meals. I personally love the breakfast at Chef Mickey. This past trip we did several character meals and we enjoy them. The food is good too! I can't wait to go back...

My husband and I went by ourselves a few months ago and we ate at Liberty Tree Tavern and Crystal Palace. It was great fun and I didn't feel silly at all. Have fun on your trip!

My husband and I are both AARP-age and I've booked LTT for December for the two of us. I'm excited beyond belief; he's kind of skeptical. I'll bet he'll have to admit that he had fun!

DH and I have quite a few Character Meals planned on our upcoming trip. We are going to Chef Mickey's and Akershus for Breakfast and Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. I look forward to them for the photo opportunities even though we are adults. I love to scrapbook our vacations and those memories are special to us. We have other more adult ressies too for balance, lol.

We do!

It's just DH and I and we loved it! There's nothing like leaving all your cares behind you and getting to be 6 years old all over again! :)
