Who do you use to create custom T-shirts?

If there is a better board for this, please move. I was just wondering who people recommend for creating those family t-shirts that people wear to the parks. I was playing around online and found just a basic t-shirt with a few lines of text for around $18/each (didn't even include pictures or anything fancy). Is there a company you prefer with better prices? TIA

I have always made ours myself, using the FABULOUS DISigns of the Creative Community. Not only can they custom make things for you - the designs are FREE.

I've purchased t-shirts on sale at Michaels (5/$10 on sale) or just purchased plain white cotton t shirts from the men's dept at Target or Walmart for tie dye.

Transfer paper (that you put in your printer to print the design) can be found at most craft/hobby stores or Target/Walmart (I prefer dark transfer paper).

Tie dye instructions can be found here on the boards and that's a lot of fun! I enjoyed doing it so much I did it with my preschool class at the end of the school year. (I have no clue how to insert the link to the thread).


It's very easy and a lot of fun - more fun and more personal than plunking down more money than you care to spend.

It is super easy - just print the design on the transfer paper and iron it on.

The Creative DISigners here are fabulous!

No problem! On the main page of the Disboards scroll down to the "Just for Fun" section. There is a folder called "Creative Disigns" and you will find a wealth of wonderful designs there. Be sure to read the FAQ sticky - it may answer some of your initial questions!

I've also done my own. They turn out pretty good and you have a larger selection of characters.
