Who do you use for grocery delivery?

I'm pretty sure the only chain down there that does delivery is Vons. You could use Amazon/Amazon Pantry too.

I just ordered from Von's for delivery at PPH on Wednesday afternoon - I'll let you know how it goes!

Pretty sure if you sign up with them for the first time, your first delivery is free. Seems like I recall that it has to be a minimum of $50.

Following.....great info for our trip coming up. Does anyone have experience with groceries being delivered before check-in? (i.e. - we arrive at 11pm...if I have groceries delivered earlier in the evening will the front desk accept the delivery?)

Thanks!!! I just signed up with Vons but looks like I need to wait a couple more weeks. Im getting ahead of myself according to them LOL!

We're just back and had a delivery from Vons. Our order included alcohol so we had to be there to accept delivery. They arrived during the one hour window and our order was correct except for a few bottles of flavored water that were out of stock. The water was removed from the bill.

Produce and the deli stuff were fresh and kept cold for delivery. Bell Services at DLH kept the produce, deli stuff and beer in cold storage until our room was ready. All in all we were pleased and would use Vons' delivery service again.

How far in advance can you place your order? Does it need to be the day of delivery or can you put it in early and pick delivery day/time?

I think I ordered around a week early. I know it was at least five days because we were in Las Vegas before heading to DLR.

I had my pick of times when I ordered. We had to do the attended delivery due to the beer but you can just have it dropped off at Bell Services if not ordering alcohol. I believe the drop-off options were for either a two or four hour window. I think there are discounts for the longer windows. We got free delivery with the code EASY7. The delivery guy refused a tip.

Our order will have cold items so I think we'll have to make sure we're there for it. I wonder how late in the day they are willing to deliver.

I am glad we can put the order in early. I thought we'd have to sit on our phone in the hotel doing it but maybe we can do it on the computer before we leave.

If there are cold items in your order Bell Services will hold it in the cold storage until you pick it up. Bell Services will always hold your order prior to your arrival unless you are ordering alcohol in which case you need to be there for the delivery. If you do have alcohol and receive your order before your room is ready Bell Services will hold it for you once you sign for it. HTH

I am not staying at an expensive hotel or an onsite hotel. So I don't know if they would do that for me. We will be at the Desert Inn.

I should give them a call and ask about that. We're staying at Desert Inn in September. Maybe I'll do that in a bit (sitting in the orthodontist's office with dd14 right now, LOL) and report back.

I figure we'll just pick a delivery window after the dinner hour on arrival day (unless Von's doesn't deliver after 5pm or something?) because I doubt we'll go anywhere that night.

So I called Desert Inn; they said they do indeed accept grocery delivery from Vons for their guests, as long as you have your reservation name or number on the store receipt. If you have cold or frozen items, they will store them in the refrigerator in the hotel breakfast room area for you until you are ready to pick them up. I'm going to assume that if you have alcohol included in your delivery, you'd have to be there to accept and sign for it, like at other hotels. :)
