Who Do You Try To Please?

When you pre-order a birthday cake or dessert and you get to choose the filling/cake/frosting/etc., are you choosing ONLY flavors the people who are celebrating/it is for such as the birthday boy/girl, the anniversary couple, etc. like? For example, if the birthday girls LOVES white chocolate but nobody else does, would you still get a cake with white chocolate frosting just because she likes it, or would you choose something neutral so more people can enjoy it? My mom LOVES chocolate on chocolate cake, but the filling I ordered for her cake is whipped cream with strawberries in it and the CM said yellow cake tastes better with that plus not everyone likes chocolate/chocolate, so I got yellow cake and chocolate frosting. Which way do you go?

i'd go neutral, so that everyone will enjoy. The birthday person will enjoy it also.
