Hi all,

I'm a little confused on tipping.
Do you tip:

the maid
concierge
waiters at meals you use fast pass on
anyone else I'm forgetting?

How much do you tip them?

I'm on a budget but I don't want to stiff people who expect and deserve a tip!

Off the top of my head...

I generally leave a partial tip (perhaps half of what I'd leave for the full week) for the maid after the first night of a stay and then the rest of the tip at the end of the stay.

Waiters, yep. 15% to 20% of the pre-tax bill amount, depending on how good the service was.

Concierge attendant if they actually do something for you - giving you brochures or discount coupons doesn't count for me, but if they make a spa appointment, get tickets for a show or that type of thing then they should get a tip. Depends on how far out of the way you think that the concierge had to go to satisfy your needs. Generally, $5 to $10 should do it.

Valet parking attendant. Some people tip both the key attendant and the person who takes/gets the car for them. I tip a few dollars to the person who takes the car and person who brings it back. $3 to $5.

Bell hop. If someone takes your bags to your hotel room you should tip them. Same thing if you have someone pick up your bags when you leave. $2 or $3 per bag.

Curbside luggage attendant at the airport. If you take advantage of the curbside bag service you should tip the attendant. $2 per bag.

If you're using a taxi or car service you should tip the driver. 15% to 20% of the fare.

Anyone in the service sector who provides a service for you - hairdresser, masseuse, babysitter and such. A percentage or flat amount depending on the type of service. Unless you're going to use them again during your stay it doesn't have to be a lot.

the maid...yes. and each day - because you may have a different housekeeper throughout the week. $0.50 per person per day minimum.
concierge...depends on how much they have to accommodate to service you
your dining bill will have a suggested tip amount at the bottom to guide you.
fast pass? no

waiters at meals you use fast pass on

Do you mean Meal Plan dining? I don't think I've heard of Fast Pass Dining - could be an interesting concept though!

MP used to include a gratuity, but no longer does. You would want to tip the serving staff there as well.

The advice you've gotten is good.

Here's what we do which from other travelers I've spoken too is pretty much in the norm:

For resturants and cabs 15% to 20%

If I'm doing valet parking I usually bring a bunch of two dollar bills and use one of these each time I get my car. Even, though, I'm not that big a tipper it makes me popular with the staff and they remember me as two dollar bills are a little bit of a novelty.

Maid -- $5 per day (every day as different staff on different days) // If it's a two bedroom condo with maid service every day I up that to $10.

I rarely do these other services in Orlando, but it is also customary to tip a tour guide if you take a special tour -- anywhere from $2 to $10 pp depending on length of tour and service received is usually what we do, and concierge (a little $2 tip for something quick and easy they do for you is much appreciated)
