Who do you book your flights through?

I called and got quoted 771 (could have been 717) per person for our flights back after the EBTA. I can get flights for ~250 per person on Norwegian so... :D not going with Disney.

If you fly on a participating airline (domestic flight only) that departs after 11:30, you can have DCL do your airline check in for you. You leave your checked bags outside your room the last night onboard, and the next time you see them will be at your home airport.

In order to participate, you must have booked EITHER your flights OR DCL transfers through DCL.

This info is from our 2014 trip:
From Port Canaveral: (from cruise documents 8/9/2014)
The requirements are below
  • You must have purchased DCL Air and/or DCL Ground Transfers
  • Your flight has to leave from Orlando International Airport after 11:30 am on the same day your cruise vacation ends. Your flight must be on a participating airline:
Alaska Airlines
American Airlines (USAirways merged)
Delta Air Lines
JetBlue Airways
United Airlines
  • Your final destination must be within the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands)
  • Each luggage piece can weigh no more than fifty (50) pounds.
  • Airline specific baggage fees may apply and can vary by airline. Please check with your specific carrier for more details.
  • Applicable airline baggage fees will be posted directly to your shipboard account.
  • Some Guests may be selected to check in at the airport and may not be able to use this service.

Thank you. We normally book directly with Southwest and our last cruise, we asked the front desk onboard to check for us and they did. The boarding passes were waiting on our bed that night! I love DCL!!

When was that cruise? Were you Concierge?

DCL and SouthWest did a trial period about a year or two ago. But, according to reports, both opted not to continue. SouthWest isn't one of the participating airlines now.

As a compulsive planner I usually research prices with Expedia or similar search engine but I always book directly with the airline. I find more available flights that way and make sure all my frequent flyer numbers are there as well as my KTN (known traveler number). Booking air with DCL can be an incredibly frustrating experience. They fly in the day of the cruise (not a good idea) and you have no idea what connections you are making and have no assurance that your family will be seated together.

Hopefully they remove Norweigans authorization in the USA. They are undercutting our airlines using state sponsorship, an unfair practice.

THANK YOU for ALL of the responses!!! Another question, has anybody tried momondo? I've heard they link up directly to airlines too....

Do you have more info on this? I've been googling and can't find anything about Norway sponsoring them.
