Who Do You Admire Most??

Everytime I think I can't do something, I remind myself that Lance Armstrong beat cancer and still won the Tour de France 6 (7?) times. I remind myself that Sonya beat cancer as a teenager- far more difficult than anything I've done. I remind myself that Anderson Cooper watched his dad die at 10, then had his brother commit suicide when he was only 19 (I'm pretty sure his brother was 19. I'm too lazy to go make sure, though), yet he's still an award winning journalist that actually gives a **** about the stuff he reports on.

I admire Henry David Thoreau because he stood up and spoke out against something he thought was wrong and was jailed for it.

I don't admire my parents. Because neither of them have ever shown me anything to be admired. My mother is spiteful of me (going so far as to telling me that I was a complete accident and that she didn't want me when she first got pregnant, but because she didn't believe in abortion had me anyway. But I guess I should feel loved that she picked me over a new convertible). My dad drinks and watches TV/Movies all day. </rant>

D00d, I can't tell you how HONORED I am that you mentioned me with those people. I am nothing but a blimp on the radar compared to Lance and Anderson.

Maybe not in the grand spectrum of things, but I actually know you and chat with you and such.

I admire my Grampa Ray, my dad, my best friend Rachel, and my classmate Rachie.

My grampa ray because, well, he was my world.
He'd do anything for me.
I loved him more than anyone else in the world, even more than my parents.
He was the person who taught me to tie my laces, tell the time and stuff like that. Not because my parents wouldn't (I don't want you to get the wrong idea here), but because he was willing too.
When he died, June 2004, my world came crashing down.
I was 7 or 8, but nothing was the same.
I miss him so much.

My dad because, he's always there for me.
I suppose it's cliche to say that you admire your mother, but for some reason I didn't.
It's not that I don't love her, but we don't ever have anything to talk about, and end up arguing.
My dad lost both his parents in the space of a year, and he had to tell me when I was 7 or 8.
We do argue, but we're always friends at the end of the day.

My best friend Rachel because..
She inspires me.
She isn't that close to her parents, and tells me they are forever arguing in front of her.
She get's comments made at her because she is very thin, but that is natural.
I love her to pieces, and I could never make a day through without her.

And my classmate Rachie because she has Anemia (I don't even know if i spelt it right), and has missed out on about 2 years of school and friends.
She is so small and tiny, I wonder how she gets through everything.
She is a vegetarian, and has anemia, which means her body doesn't get enough iron.
I just hope one day she will be able to return to school. :goodvibes

Is there one certain person in your life that you admire the most??
For me, it's definitely my boyfriend.
He's been through a LOT, and he's so brave it makes me cry every time I think of all he's had to endure.

He tries so hard to succeed, and is always nice to others and trying to make everyone else happy. He's such a great person to be around, and I admire him so much, just like I love him with all my heart.<3
What about you?? :flower3:

Same with me.
Last night he spilled his guts to me and told me everything about his past, and it's awful. I was almost crying for him.
But he stayed strong through it all, and I admire him sooo much for that.

I also admire my brother, because he's been through so much as well, yet he also stayed strong through all of it and everything turned out great for him.

This is a no brainer for me. The person I admire the most is my Mom. She is amazing and has taking care of me alone practically my entire life. She is such an un-selfish person and tries to give the best to me in everything by working really hard everyday. I love my Mom.

My bestie, Meggles.

She and her family have gone through SO MUCH (she just had major surgury yesterday, too) but she's so strong. No matter what comes her way, she finds some way to make it better, and focuses on the good. She's so beautiful that way, and I love her for it. She puts her friends/family before her, which is so sweet, and she really loves/cares about them.

Anna-Varney,
She suffered depression for over 40 years, she suffered abuse from her mother (a running theme in her albums of the mockery her mother treated her with) and the after affects of that, being transgender, being verbally abused because of her appearance, Narrowly survived getting cancer, she is only barely able to see (also another theme that is in her albums)....but she still goes on with a little smile (esp. her album Les Fleurs Du Mal which was filled with alot of humour haha).

Also Elizabeth I,
despite plots to get rid of her from the throne, kill her and everyone she trusted betray her she still stood strong...and she stuck up against the courts when women were more or less powerless which I think was a good thing (and she mocked marriage because the court was telling her who she should marry etc. and she said that maybe she should marry someone from every country to please them haha).
