We went to Disney World the second week of January. Just got my credit card statement for this month and there's a charge on Feb. 15 for $90.79 for "Disney MISC/Group (Dining & Entertainment) Lake Buena Vista" but we definitely weren't there on Feb. 15 (I wish!).

What number can I call to straighten this out?

TIA,

I would call your credit card company and tell them you are disputing the charge.......they will investigate it for you and get back to you. I have done this in the past...they usually place the charge "on hold" until the dispute is solved.

I called my credit card company already and they told me to call Disney.

The charge states it's "Dining and Entertainment" but no, we bought no party tickets any time this year, or last year, for that matter, since last March 2007, so that's not it. I'm thinking it's from a meal at Epcot, that's about the bill we paid at Coral Reef one day.

number

Disney Guest Relations - 407-824-4321

It may not be the answer but they should point you in the right direction.

We had this happen one time except it was with my debit card. I lost a receipt for Rainforest Cafe and I didn't write down what we had spent. After 1 month and half I kept checking my balance and completely forgot about what we paid as RFC and lo and behold we had a $200 charge come through. At the time I didn't realize that I didn't debit out the RFC. I just assumed since I used a debit card it took it out immediately. Nope.

It was my mistake but they did wait an enitre month and a half to bill my debit card. They are probably just slow with billing but I would call and dispute your cc charge until you find out more info.

Let us know how it works out.

GinnyFavers- calling WDW is not your problem, call your cc company and tell them you do not recognize the charge and ask them to mail you a copy of the receipt w/your signature, if they cannot produce that - you can dispute the charge, don't be making phone calls to disney - let your cc do that.

You should definately be able to handle this directly through your cc company. You are after all, reporting possible fraud.

Just a stab in the dark, but did you order Photopass pictures on Feb. 15th?
(Em&Bec'sMom sneaking in again)

I forgot that I purchased Keys to the kingdom tour tickets for my mom, and it showed up as disney dining......I called my credit card company and with me on the line they called disney and we were able to figure out what the charge was.

Try calling and getting someone different at the credit card company, then if no luck call disney again and see if they can help you.

Good Luck!

Call Guest relations. I had paid my deposit for my package. it showed on my CC, but Disney didn't have it recorded. I spent quite a bit of time on the regular line and then was transferred to Guest relations. The CM had accounting run my CC# and within just a few minutes he had the list of all the exact charges. They were very very helpful in finding my deposit.

When the CM in GR listed the charges, he was very specific so I imagine they could tell you exactly what it was.

Good luck

That's probably what it is, then. Was there a similar charge on last month's statement?

Your credit card company is dropping the ball here. They should be the ones investigating this, not you. That amount should be held in dispute. You should not be charged interest on that amount. What are they going to do if you call Disney World and they don't have an answer for you?

Where were you on February 15th? Or right before then? Some places don't post every day. Some wait and do it once a week or a few times a week.

This is the first charge of that amount that's showed up. I just went through our paper receipts (didn't know we had them, but hubby saved them all, the little squirell!) and lo and behold, yes, it's from Coral Reef.

I guess everyone should just be aware that if you use your Key to the Kingdom card to pay for stuff on the day you check out, it could take them up to a month to run the charge! You'd think they'd want their money faster than that.

From now on, we'll not be using the Key to the Kingdom card for purchases on check out day. That should simplify things.

Thanks to all. And yes, the Chase employee I got was extremely unhelpful. He just wanted to get me off the phone and not do any work. Seems to be the norm these days with younger customer service people, it's like they're at war with their customers. Anyways, that's another rant, lol!

Usually, what we do is to go to the resort concierge the night before check-out and review the charges and write them a check for the remaining balance. That clears out your account and is easy to track. For the rest of the trip, any expenditures are done directly on our credit card and we no longer use the KTTW card. That way there are no surprise charges later on.

As far as the bank customer service, I know it can be frustrating. For a lot of banks it is standard procedure though to have the customer do their own foot work before they label the charge as "fraudulant" for the exact example you pointed out. About 85 - 90% of the charges that people will initially claim as fraudulant are actually charges that they forgot about or came through late. Not all banks do this, but some do. Saves them money although can be frustrating for the patron, especially if it is debit card situation.

Keep checking your cc, though. Last month my bil and sil went to WDW. When they got home, she checked pending transactions and WDW had gone and double charged the dining. Not only did they return the $, but they gave the original amount to them half price, because their DVC studio had not heat for the week they were there, and of course, the World had records that she called three times while they were there to get the heat fixed.
