I was reading a post about children being close in age and fighting and it got me thinking. What do you do when something happens, ex crayon marks on wall or something broken, and neither child will admit it.
They will say the other one did it or even the little wall monster came out and did it  Or they will be fighting and say the other one started it. I usually try to let them handle arguing themselves but not hitting allowed.
I will usually put both of them in thinking time. In their room (they share) to think over the problem and what happen.
Dh doesn't think this is good. They are 8 and 6 but mentally close to the same age

I think your method of separating them in different rooms is a good one. Why does your DH not think its a good idea?

I have to separate my kids on an almost daily basis, and they are 3.5 years apart!
