Who Could do this to their Child?

This is so completely SICK! A man in Atlanta poisoned his children's soup- and then was going to try and sue Campbell's, claiming it made his children ill. I cannot even comprehend how someone could do something like this! There are some twisted people in the world!

Munchausen by proxy is usually done to get attention from the medical community. This man is just plain demented.

When I was a kid (in another space and time) a man poisoned his kids' pixie sticks (remember them) on Halloween. He cried on TV and said how he held them in his arms while they died. Well he took out huge insurance policies on both of his kids only weeks earlier. He was arrested and convicted. He only poisoned his kids' pixie sticks, but other kids had them too and all tested negative.

My ex would do something like that. When my kids were in 2nd and 5th grades, he would make them leave his apartment for a few hours in the afternoon so he could take a nap. He gave them pennies and told them to go to the nearby railroad tracks and put the pennies on the tracks, and then he told them they could not return to his apartment until the train came and flattened the pennies. They told me that they had to run from the train.

When the kids told me that, they said they would never go back to visit him, and we went to a family court mediator and ended visitation with him. I told the family court mediator that I can do damage control, but only if there is something left. I knew that he had life insurance policies on the kids (which I am sure have lapsed by now), and I would not have been surprised if he wanted that to happen so he could get even with me for leaving him (even the mediator raised that possibility) and so he could collect on the insurance. Life is glorious without him!

some people will try to do ANYthing for money. Those poor kids suffer because their parents are imbeciles! I hope the kids are ok!

There have been cases of parents doing it by faking cancer and holding fundraisers for their kids.

I am an old child welfare worker, so nothing will shock me I don't think. (Or it would take a LOT) I think most people would be shocked at what happens on a daily basis that you don't know about.

ITA! I worked in mental health (psychiatric ward) when I was in the Air Force and the things I've seen would/could make you cry. There isn't too much that would surprise me anymore and I think that in and of itself is, "sad".

THE KID WAS PERFECTLY FINE!!!

I think she's in prison now.

The Pixie Stick Dad's story made my skin crawl too. His kids actually died from this? OMG!

Yes, wasn't that on NATIONAL news. It was a few years ago BUT just so sad!
