Who carries a purse?

Ok, I am one of those women who hates purses! I am astounded by the amount of stuff that some women manage to keep in them!! I would be so afraid that I would lose it or something with all my important things inside! So I'm curious~ do you carry a purse and what do you carry in it?

I very rarely carry a purse...usually if I have one it sits on the floor of my car and I grab my wallet or CC out of it and run...

ok - I'm a purse person (and I own over 30 of them - don't ask!) I always wondered how those that DON'T carry purses carry their stuff around.

in my purse i have my wallet, keys, check book, 17 lip glosses (i was dared to count - do NOT ask!), cell phone, pen, cigarettes, lighter, hair tie just in case, hand lotion (small one), advil (i get frequent headaches), umm...tampons, bandaids (sometimes), and gum or mints.

that's not counting all the other crap thrown in through out the day.

I NEVER lose my purse, and it amazes me that some women could leave it behind. but i guess if you're not used to carrying one, you could easily forget it.

The people at my old job used to call me Sophia Patrillo (Golden Girls) because I went nowhere without my "pocketbook".... (that's what I grew up calling them!)

Yes I carry a medium sized purse, unless I'm going somewhere like an amusement park; then I'll take a small purse, wallet bag or fanny pack and only take cash, keys, and necessary cards.

I usually have my wallet, checkbook, keys and cell phone. Since I have a bigger bag than the last one I used, I also have a small cosmetic bag filled with all the little things that swim in the bottom of a purse - eye drops, mints, hand cream, etc.

I love to go without a purse. My big gripe is the sparcity of women's garments that have pockets . They would never leave pockets off of men's pants, yet it is very difficult to find a dress, a skirt and nice trousers with pockets. GRRRRR.

I don't get it either - even when I carry a tiny evening bag - DH still has to hold my other necessities! heheeh

My friend used to carry all her crap in her jacket (fine in the winter, right?) she handed me the jacket once - i SWEAR the darn thing weighed 30 lbs with all the CRAP she had stashed in the pockets.

I bought her a purse for christmas that year.

My cell phone is on a clip, keys in my pocket and I bring my checkbook into a store if I need it.

Yes, I carry a purse but it's a curse. I cannot seem to find the perfect purse. Always in some way the purse it irritating. Either the straps aren't right, or it cramps my arm to clutch it, or it's too deep, too dark inside to find anything, too big, too small, etc. I HATE buying purses but I'm a purse person.
Inside are wallet, keys, money (not kept in wallet), check book, lip balm, pen, receipts, coupons.

I carry a purse to the mall. That is it. Anywhere else, I tuck some money into my pocket. Driver's license, AAA card, cell phone all can hang out in the console in my car. And the keys are on a lanyard so I don't lose them. I just carry that, swinging it around. Yes, I drive my mother crazy.
My mom carries the stinking Mary Poppins bag. She once won a contest at school (she's a teacher)-the purse scavenger hunt. She had the most items from a list in her purse. The list covered everything from uh feminine products to toothbrushes, and everything in between. She has a second purse that she carries to events where it'll be searched that she just puts the CC's and money and stuff into, but even then it takes them 10 minutes to search it.
And people wonder why I DON'T carry a purse

I use a hip pack (unless I'm going someplace really fancy.) That way I can keep my hands free. My wallet is actually tethered to the inside of my hip pack, so it never gets lost. I need to tether in a hairbrush, too! I got to work yesterday and realized that someone had taken my hairbrush out and not returned it. And of course I'd been driving with the windows open, and my hair was really wild. Fortunately someone (probably the same person!) had left her swim team bag in the car, and there was a brush in there.

I carry a purse with me for daily errands. It holds my wallet (which includes checkbook), comb, pens, my planner, lipsticks (I don't carry 17, usually around 3) keys, cellphone. However, if I am going into a store, I usually just grab my wallet to go in. If we are going out to a club, I'll take my driver's license and some cash and stick it in a pocket of my pants so I don't have to worry about carrying my purse around in the club all night.

siouxi31 - I am the same way. I can never find the right purse. It's too small, too big, too many pockets, too little pockets, etc. I finally started making my own purses last summer and I like them better.

I try not to carry a purse. I carry a computer with me for work, so I usually just carry that around with me and put things in the case. If I am going shopping I will put a small wallet with cards and cash in it and keep that and my keys in my pockets. I hate to carry purses.....

I really haven't used a purse in about 15 years. When I go to work, I put everything in my briefcase, plus I have extra makeup, tylenol, etc. in my desk at work. I try to buy clothes with pockets, so I can carry my license and ATM card and I don't really need anything else, since I'm beyond the age of being obsessive about how my hair looks.

A few months ago, I had to go to a cocktail party for work and had to use a purse because my dress had no pockets. I hated keeping track of that thing!

I carry one. I have all the wallet contents in it, a few items of makeup.. usually just lipgloss, a comb, and then tons of papers! LOL

I carry a purse (and when DS's with me, a Diaper bag). I carry:
wallet
pictures
compact, lipstick and chapstick
gum
cellphone


My purses is fairly small right now. But once DS gets off of formula and babyfood, I'll carry a large purse and just throw in a few diapers/wipes, snacks and sippy cup for him when we go out together.

I carry a purse which contains my cellphone, wallet, lipgloss, mirror, and digital camera depending on where I'm going. Obviously I shove my keys in there too.

It's not usually about what's in my purse, but what purse I'm carying, and how it matches my outfit Accessories make the outfit.

I never carry a purse, I hate them! I usually don't have much to carry anyway, usually just my wallet, keys (if I'm driving which I'm usually not) and cell phone. It's not a big deal because I'm never by myself so there's always someone to carry them for me. Either I'll just ask my friend or mother to put the stuff in their purse, or ask my boyfriend to put them in one of his pockets (unless I can fit them in mine).
