Just wondering how many of us will not/cannot book an onsite room without a promo or pin code. With six of us, I know we cannot afford to stay onsite without one. :sad2:

I'm crossing my fingers for a June code!

I'm crossing my fingers for a June code!

We're just a family of four so we could likely swing it without a discount. That said, if no discounts were offered, I probably wouldn't book.

Never. As a family of six, we only go if free dining is offered. We are looking at the end of Nov. 2013.... Especially with airfare through the roof...if we don't get FD...we will wait till 2014

We also will not book unless there is some kind of discount. We are hoping to go this summer but if we don't get a code, we will probably go somewhere else in 2013.

We are just 2 adults but it hurts with no discount, I can tell you that. We have already decided that we are driving next year and staying at a moderate to try and save some money.

Right here.... never have, never will. I have NEVER in 15 trips (maybe more), paid full price. We have 5 now, and since we drive from OH, I will not stay any less than 8-10 days. So I NEED a promo code and without it we would stay off site or finally try a new vacation that year. Plus, Disney keeps raising those rates- they better keep the promo codes coming.

Us either. Cannot afford to stay onsite without a discount. Will not book without one. With the lack of discounts this year, we are looking to spend more time at Universal. I am getting tons of pins and discount offers from them. Nothing from Disney.

We won't book without a promo, either. Especially free dining since values are good enough for us (although we did splurge on a moderate this past year) and we only need one room since there are 4 of us. We tend to go for 10 days. That being said, we have a family reunion of sorts at Disney at the end of next year and have to book it regardless. It is going to kill us if there isn't a promo! In general, though, promos are the only way I can convince DH to go to Disney. Without them we would look elsewhere.

Same here. Looks like Universal will get my money again in June.

We are a family of 5, technically 4 I guess since our littlest will only be two...but without a code it won't work. Its a tight budget to start with and am much as I am dreaming for this trip, I won't put us in the hole. We still will have to add flights which is almost as much as the trip it seems.

If nothing comes out for August when we'll able to go, the money saved will pay for DH and I to go on a trip somewhere tropical in winter instead. Than again we could go on site and afford the trip/flight...but there'd be no money to eat while we were there.

we would never book onsite without fd or room discount.

it' s just not worth the money Disney ask at full price, even mods. :)

include us in the families that won't go without a discount. thank goodness disney is addicted to them too.

I will not book a room without discounts...Disney has raised their prices so much we cannot afford to stay there now, so without the incentive we will stay off site....we love all the perks of staying on site but not worth an extra $1000 to us...

If they continue to raise their rates (and also keep changing season rates) they will make it impossible for families to visit at all...and not only room rates but ticket and dining prices just keep going up, it wouldn't be so bad if it just went up a small amount but sometimes they go up $5- $10 at a time

I know its a business and they have overhead $$$$$$...but so do we, things don't get any cheaper for us to live either and fitting in a Disney vacation has become something only the wealthy or those willing to charge and hope to pay off can afford...

I truly love going to Disney World and everyone thinks I am crazy wanting to go every year so it is really hard not to be able to stay there...

We are a family of nine. We will probably end up staying at the Fort next yr for the xmas trip. My husbands vacation time is only for the holidays and of course its during a time with no discounts. If they did have a nice discount then we might consider one of the other resorts even if it was a value. For the may trip it a surprise to DH for our anniversary and since its only a one time thing a discount would be nice but not going to hold me back.

I will not book a resort unless I have a discount.
I am not one of those that will book and then wait for a discount. The discount has to already be offered for me to book. This usually means we don't make plans more than six months out.

I guess that my family is the minority here. We know that we are going to go to Disney every Summer and I save up all year long for the trip so that we can go even if there are no discounts. Having said that, I do keep my fingers crossed that something comes out that we can take advantage of. So far, we've been in luck for the last 8 trips (when we started staying onsite) and used Disney's special offers. I have never received a pin code in all of our 17 trips and it's probably because Disney knows were coming with or without one.

We do take shorter trips to other destinations one or two times a year and, broken down by the day, while Disney is more expensive, we don't get the most "bang for our buck" at the other places.

Just last week, I did a ton of research on various other options for our annual vacation and, after putting pencil to paper, I realized that Disney vacations really aren't that expensive when compared to the price of the other places.

So, will we or do we book without a discount? Yes. Do we hope for a discount or special offer? Yes. Does a discount make a difference on whether or not we go to Disney? No.

I am in the minority too. We will go with or without a discount it just will change where we stay. With a discount we stay deluxe but if there isn't a discount we will drop to a moderate.

We will never book without a discount. Disney resorts are not and will never be worth rack rate.

Booked room I wanted at rack rate. Booked airfare with SW on November 19th for my dates of travel. Will wait patiently to see if any discount or code comes my way. For the past few years, Summer discounts have been offered in the Spring. :goodvibes
