OK, so my family is looking at going to WDW in October over my fall break. If we go, I'd be really interested in going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Have any of you ever gone before? What did you think of it? From what I've seen/read it looks like so much fun!!

I've been checking the official WDW site for dates, but could not find them. I saw there was something on here with 2006 dates, but they don't have any listed for the weekend we'd be there. I thought to myself there is no way they wouldn't have them that weekend (we'd be getting there on the 18th or 19th of October), so I looked at a couple other sites that had 2006 dates that included the 19th and 20th . I'm just a little confused why the dates differ a little bit (are the other sites just projecting them based on last year, or was it just a mistake on the DIS article? I guess I thought they had them every weekend in October :confused3 It would be my luck to not have them when we'd be there! LOL.) Anyway...my main question is when do they start selling the tickets for the event, and how many do they sell per night? I'd love to hear what you thought of it too! Wow, I really typed a lot, but any help/information would be appreciated! :teeth:

Here is a link to the dates ofMNSSHP.

As far as having been to one, I have gone for the last 2 tears; GREAT FUN!!!
Dress Up, but notin restrictive clothing. Most of the waits are short because of the limitted number of tickets sold. The Special Halloween Fireworks were AWESOME!!!

I suggest visitting the trip Planning Board (actually, this topic fits more on that board, and the mods may moveit there for you.....

for october both the 19th & 20th are listed as Halloween parties on disney official site. Hope that helps.

We went for the first time last fall. LOVED IT!!!

We went in Oct. 2004 but I believe everything that follows will be true in 2006.

They have the party every weekend in Oct and some wekdays as well.

Many weekend nights sell out.

I believe we got our tickets in late August or early Sept.

I would say it was as crowded as it gets on off season weekday. It wasn't as crowded as I have seen it on a regular Saturday afternoon. Not sure how many tickets that translates to.

The party is worth it if you or your kids (or both) are into trick or treating (they give out candy along the different paths, characters (tons of them including most of the villians), and riding the rides at night.

The parade was fantastic. Lots of different floats and the makeup and costumes for the CM's is great.

The special fireworks show is very good.

The shows are decent, worth checking out if you stay the whole night.

We went last year on a 'sold-out' night and it was not very crowded at all. We had a blast and left with probably 10 pounds of candy and we weren't even trying to trick or treat much! The parade and fireworks were amazing. The only crowded rides were in fantasyland. Do those early if you can or skip them completely.

Thanks for the info everyone!

I guess that I am alone here, but I am not a fan of the mnsshp. We were there the year before last in early October. We went on a Friday night that I don't think was sold out. It was more crowded that night than on any other our entire 12 day trip. The longest lines that we encountered were at the paryt. We had wanted to get the girls pic. taken in Cinderella's carriage, but the wait was over an hour and a half! That is a pretty expensive pic. when you figure how much you are spending for each minute of the party! I thought that the candy lines were very unorganized. Several times I saw adults shove my kids out of the way to get to the candy. When we got our pictures taken they would only take one of us as a family and I was told that each ticket entitled you to a package. I was really hoping to get a pic of my 2 girls alone also. We tried to go to the late parade and it started 15 minutes late for some reason. Wasted time for a parade that wasn't that great. We had ap's so we could have been in the park the whole day for "free" and I was really dispointed that we stayed away all day to rest up for the party. I doubt that we will ever go to a hard ticket event again.

glad you asked this today! we are starting to think about going to mnsshp before our halloween cruise. it's still in the planning stages, but i'm glad others are posting their experience!

We had a blast in 2003, not so great in 2005. In 2005 there were too many people and it rained so the first parade was cancelled. We didn't stay to see the second parade. We did get to see parts of Hallowishes, which was breathtaking.

That being said, if we can get tickets for our upcoming trip, we'll give it another shot!
