Who can pick up kids from Oceaneer club? Does it have to be parent?

I'm talking about kids who are too young to sign themselves in and out. We are traveling with my sister and another couple. I'm wondering if when you sign the kids up, you can designate other adults allowed to check them out.

For example, if sister and her dh went to Atlantis, but I stayed on board, could I pick up my nephew?

As long as the 'pickup' person knows the password, they can check out your child. When you register your child in the club/lab, you pick a password. This password is required to check your child out of the club/lab -- even if you are the parent!

Great. That should work well. Thanks for the info.

Because we are traveling 3 families together, it will be easier if one adult can get all the kids in case the others are occupied.

They also ask you who can pick your kids up. I put one person from each of the families we went with.

We just filled out the forms last week on the Magic for the Oceaneer's Club and there was a place to list the names of any person who has permission to pick up the child. I think this is necessary, in addition to the person picking up the child knowing the password.

We were traveling with my sister's family, so we listed ourselves (DH and myself) and DSis and DBIL on this list. Also, we picked same password for all so that we only needed to remember one password instead of one for each family.

Just be aware of where each child is! If you have kids in different age groups, make sure each adult has a copy of the Navigators. The kids move around a lot and the "picker-upper" may have to go to several locations to get the kids. There are also times they cannot be checked in or picked up, especially during movies or the transition from one location to another.

Does anyone know whether or not my DS (9) can pick up his little sister out of the lab? I know that he can sign himself out, but it would be great if he was able to pick her up on his way back. Thanks for the help!

"times they cannot be checked in or picked up, especially during movies "

Are you saying that I can't pick up a child during a movie? That seems like a long block of time. I assume if I'm paged during the movie, then I could do a pickup?

Yes, it is true you can't pick up during a movie. But if you're paged, it's different. They will take the child out of the theater to page you, and you'll pick them up outside. If you think your child won't sit through the movie, pick them up before they leave for the theater. It would be very difficult to pick your child out of the rows of kids in a dark theater, which is why they don't do pick up there.
