The last time I went to Disney my daughter was 9 and we did the DDP. Now, she is 11. She will not eat many of the items off the adult menu at TS restaurants. She still wants to eat chicken fingers, mac 'n cheese, hamburgers, etc. Can she still order from the kids menu at TS restaurants?

The same thing goes with my mother-in-law - she has an extremely sensitive stomach and cannot eat many foods - if she does, she is "sick" for days with GI symptoms. All the times I have eaten out with her (100s of times) she has ordered chicken fingers or a ham sandwich. Can she order a kids meal as well at TS restaurants?

Has anyone else had this problem? Can they order "kids meals" or "ala carte kid food items" at TS restaurants? Ten years old seems really young to have to order from the adult menu to me.

I don't know about WDW. But when we ate at Outback (in Kissimmee) I did see an adult order the kids Mac and Cheese (they have a very good one there).

Since then, I've ordered from the kids menu twice from our Outback, asking first, if that would be ok as I'm not very hungry. They are perfectly fine with it and it allows me to keep my portion more reasonable.

We usually order wine, beer and share a dessert, so we still generate a nice bill for them. ;)

Anyone can order from the a la carte kid's menus, regardless of age. However, an adult (for Disney dining purposes, this means anyone 10 or over) will be charged the full adult price, regardless of what they eat, at buffets.

PP is correct about ordering off of the kids menus. Just wanted to add that on the DDP you'd pay adult prices for your DD and MIL. You may find that if they consistently order off of the kids menus then you'll be better off without the plan.

Yes, I was told this same thing when I ordered off the children's menu at sci fi (I really wanted a grilled cheese sandwich).

Disney does not have any problem with adults ordering from a child menu (or children ordering from adult).

HOWEVER, if you are on DDP then a child must order from a child menu, but even if an adult orders from the child menu they will still be charged an adult meal credit.

Thanks for the answers . . I am glad Disney can accomodate the pickier eaters in my party . . . I have another question . . . Is it possible for some of our group to be on the DDP while others (in different rooms) are not? Although we are visiting Disney together, my in-laws will probably NOT want to do the dining plan (they don't want to be bothered with counting their meals, etc.) while my family IS on the plan? We will be doing separate checks at the restaurants anyway.

What I am really hoping for is free dining and then I won't have to bother with all this planning!

Thanks for any help!

Dining Plan aplies to everyone three and older on a specific Resort reservation. This is even if the reservation is for more than one room.

However, if they are on separate reservations, even if the reservations are linked together (to have rooms assigned very close by), they don't have to be on DDP.

Also, there has never been any problem with servers doing separate checks. Just let them know when you first start ordering that there will be separate checks and who is on which one.
