Who As A Rumor Of Free Dining?

Spoke with AAA yesterday. She stated she is pretty sure they will offer free dining this year. She was unsure of the dates!!

Hoping for free dining!!!:yay:

I've spoken with two CM's and they've both been "positive" free dining will be offered again. Then again, I've heard dissers say their reps have said "absolutely not". We can only cross our fingers! :)

Guests in Disney resorts during the month of Decempber were offered a free dining special for August 5- September 29th. The dates would probably be similar for any new offers.

I hope so. I think that this is the third year of free dining, but I may be wrong. This is the first time I saw it as a bounceback special and offered so far in advance. It seems as if they are trying new things as far as long range discount bookings are concerned. Now there is also an e-mail pin code for discounts of up to 40% off. That seems to go all the way through next December. You never know what they are going to do next - it keeps us busy!

No one really knows how they send out the email pin codes. I did not get one.

I'm hoping for free dinning again BUT

I remember that one year they had buy 4 nights get three free
The next year buy 5 nights get 2 free
the next year it was not offered so I am wondering if the bounce back was the new thing for this offer?

Just a thought

My biggest concern is the people that have already booked dates during the same timeframe free DDP was offered to the UK/Bounce-Back with the hopes they can convert their non-discounted reservation when the offer is made available to the general public. I'm afraid this will create false occupany levels that will be high enough that Disney will not extend the offer to everyone. Then, when they all cancel to get their deposit back...it might be too late for others to secure airfare, etc. if the plan ends up being offered at the last minute.

I think Disney is smart enough to know not to count on allot of ressies if they do not offer free dinning. They do not want to get stuck with a bunch of open rooms, they are more likely to have a small booking window during which you can make your reservations, that way they can extend it if they need to. Last year they extended their cut off date either once or twice (I believe it was only once) that you could make your ressies.

For 4 seasons Disney has offered some type of promotion during the late August/September value season. I feel pretty confident they will offer something again. It may not be free dining. But, if they were really smart they would offer a discounted dining package. People who are looking for "free" would still be getting a good deal and Disney would still be making some $. It might also allow the restaurants to be full, but not overly crowded. :rolleyes1 I'm sure their marketing department is working on something right now. Just wish I knew what it was. :confused3

As far as bounceback - People who booked that said many CM's claimed there would ne no free dining. What a great way to assure that someone books early. Now people are reporting that CM's are saying free dining is on the horizon. Something is likely to be up with the dining plan. They know enough people have tried it and liked it. Now they need a creative way to tie it into packages and general public reservations.

In the meantime we will all keep checking.....:surfweb:

I just got off the phone with Disney - checking for a PIN. While I didn't have one she did tell me if I was willing to book for travel starting before October 3
that there would be an announcement in June of a special offer. Btu we all know that they don't always know what they are talking about. but then again who knows.

Oh my, I hope they announce it before June. I can't wait that long! Last year it was April.

I can't wait that long either. We went last year for free dining and had the best time. But the promo for stay 5 nights and get 2 free would also be awsome!

Was told by a CM after we booked the bounce back program that they had a better than expected turn out for that program. That they probably would not offer free dining at all because of the overwhelming response they had to the bounce back program. Also our first choice was not availble for the week we chose. (CSR for Sept 9th - 16th)

This is my point - exactly - everyone who booked bounceback seems to have heard this same line. I really think this was a sales pitch (even though the CM said it after the fact). It was to make you feel good that you didn't miss out. Now CM's are telling people to check back because there will be some promotion. BUT WHAT THE HECK IS IT...????? I just can't wait to June to find out!

Hope they don't wait until June either - I can't wait that long! :goodvibes

It may be in their best interest not to wait that long however, since most people have already made vacation plans for the end of summer by then...

In Dec, I had emailed Disney with some other concerns and a CM called me back. I can't remember what department she said she was from, but it was something like marketing or public relations or something like that. During our conversation I brought up the bounceback offer and my hopes of free dining being offered to the public. She basically said not to worry it would be offered again. She seemed to think it would be offered in April. Of course she did say she can't guarantee but it that it would be offered and to watch for it. Hope she was right. :cool1:

Unless the occupancy is not @ desired levels for late August/September; I cannot see them offering it again...

why should they if the rooms are already booked:confused3

Had a discussion w/Executive Offices in Oct in response to pest issue @ BC. I mentioned the lack of AP rates in late June & was told they're only offered if occupancy is below a certain projection (which is why they are only released in spurts).

Do think they'll offer something in connection w/pkg "freebie"...perhaps Plus's, etc.

good luck:wizard:
