It's still early. but Thanksgiving is coming up next week. DH's family is comig for Thanksgiving. I wonder if I should go ahead and put up my tree, and I wonder if I should use feather boas on them... They are already selling Christmas Trees on the main road sooooo....... How many of you already have yours up and decorationated? :bitelip:

I would keep mine up all year but no - not yet - As soon as I get free time - its the best time of year. Every day I have been walking by Rock. Center to see if they are done decorating the tree there! I cant wait!

not until after thanksgiving.
and i have a fake tree

i'll attempt to put mine up on the 26th

Not until after thanksgiving but that reminds me that I have to put up the outdoor lights this weekend. That always reminds me of the movie Christmas Vacation. Ya gotta love Clark Griswold. :teeth: A classic movie. :rotfl:

I have had ours up for a couple of weeks. I keep my old aluminuimum one, please like anyabody else doesn't havent trouble with that word, up all the time.

We always put ours up the day after Thanksgiving. I can't believe that's a week from today. I still haven't done any Christmas shopping. :)

Not me. Mine will go up December 3rd as we cut our own so I can't do it too early ;)

I have a fake one too. I'm thinking about getting an extra one for the bonus room but since I use that as my music room maybe do it in all hot pink or something i dont' know maybe its a silly idea. Maybe I should just wait until after Thanksfiving. I just knowt hat DH's family won't be back before Christmas they never come over.

I DO I DO!!! We put our garland up on the stairs 2 weekends ago...last weekend was the smaller tree in our front room, and this weekend will be the bigger tree in our family room. I love having all the decorations up early! Especially since its so cold here and was snowing already this week.

I do, kind of.

Both are artificial. Put up our new, prelit one last week. Wanted to make sure it worked and we had all the pieces since it was new. It is in the front window. I haven't decorated it yet, and we won't light it until Thanksgiving.

We put up our other tree in the family room this week. Got the lights on but it is also undecorated. That is in the back of the house (not near a window) so I have been lighting it even though it is undecorated.

We also put up most of the outside lights two weekends ago when we had some warm weather. We won't light it until Thanksgiving since I still have my fall decorations out too.

I had planned on decorating the trees and finishing the outside this weekend, but we just got FREE tickets to NYC for the Rockettes through work. So I will probably finish everything up on Black Friday.

my tree has been up for almost 2 weeks now, we are gonna have an exciting christmas this year now that DD is almost 2 and she finds the tree so facinating, she already took a glass bulb ornament off the tree and looked at me and said "mommy, ball" and threw it, yeah fun.

My mother told me that when I was about 2, I was so fascinated with the tree that she put the tree in the play pen so I couldn't reach it and my father still had to wire the tree to a wall to keep it steady. :earseek:

Not me. It goes up the day after T-Day. No sooner, no later.

The lights on the outside of the house will go on this weekend. I don't turn them on, just get them on the bushes so they're ready to go. Should have done two weeks ago when the weather was still nice, but oh well!

Our tree doesn't go up until Dec. 1st, and our lights go up the day after Thanksgiving.

I'm shopping for my first 'artificial' tree this week-end. I've had it with the mess of real. So....can those of you who love yor artificial trees give me some recommendations as to a good brand to buy? I'm looking for pre-lit of course. Then it will go up as soon as I finish painting the living room.
Have to string the lights outside this week-end.

I got mine from QVC a couple of years ago. I loved the look and smell of real trees but they are too much for my allergies, and make my ashtma act up. But my tree takes all of 5 secs. to put together, it's pretty nice and I don't think I paid much for it.

This is the one I have. It's from Sears, and I love it! It's very pretty, looks very real, and is very bright when lit up. Mine is the clear lights, but you can also get it in multi-colored lights. I think we got ours at a better price in the store.

ahhh crap!

i forgot I did that last year! now I gotta fight with that stuff again!

SHOOT!

I do mine funny though...I don't weave it...and I put it at "stair level" so it doesn't cover the banister. (hey - it works for us)

*sigh*...sometimes the decorating is just "work" and not "fun"
