Can you purchase a refillable mug at Whitewater Snacks in the GC?

Thanks!

And if you bring in a "souvenir" mug and ask if you can "refill" it, they will tweak about your wording. :)

I had to quickly say "I know I have to pay full price, but do you mind if I just fill the mug, not fill a paper cup and then fill my mug".

I got the feeling people come in expecting free refills quite often.:upsidedow

I just had to comment when I saw this thread that I was reviewing the menu for WWS, and OMG, it looked oh so yummy!! They have such a large variety!!

Can you eat inside here? Or is it one of those places where you get your food and go? Is it ever busy, or pretty low-key? We are planning on dinner there on a Friday around 5:30-6pm.

TIA! (didnt mean to hijack the thread, sorry)

I'm not sure if this is true, but I heard somewhere that you can get Hawaiian Shave Ice with mochi on the bottom at Whitewater snacks. Is this true ?

Where is Whitewater Snacks?

Can you go there even if you're not staying in GCH ?

There is indoor and outdoor seating at White Water. When we ate there a few weeks ago, there were very few people around. We almost had the place to ourselves!

They have wonderful chicken nachos! Our kids ordered fruit plates, which were great after a day in the sun. They have sandwiches, ice cream bars, a grill menu, all kinds of drinks (ds had something that looked like a 7-11 slurpee, but it was apple juice. It was really good!)

White Water is located in the Grand Californian. If you enter from Downtown Disney, hang a left and walk through the lobby and out the doors. Walk past Storyteller's on your left, and follow the sidewalk as it turns to the right. WW will be on your left (the GC pool will be on your right).

WWS is usually not busy and does have inside seating. Anyone can go there even if you're not staying at GCH. It's in the southeast corner of GCH and has an obstructed view of the Grizzly River Run entrance area inside of DCA. You can get to it from DCA by taking the path north from GRR, then hanging a left into GCH. Be sure to get your hand stamped, then walk straight towards the pool then turn left when you get to the end of the hallway. After eating you might take a stroll to the GCH main lobby - it's very impressive, particularly the fireplace seating area.

Thanks guys!! I am sure my oldest son will get the nachos, so I am sure there will be plenty for me to try!!

Jaz, you can eat there even if you aren't staying at the GCH. We eat there all the time and I am wayyyy too cheap to spend the money to stay there.

I've never seen the shave ice/mochi at WWS. They do have an premixed Icee machine, but I haven't seen just plain shave ice there? :confused3

Thanks DangerMouse !! I really want to go to WWS because I've heard great reviews of it :)

Yes. I get a french dip. If you eat outside plan on eating with a very cute kitty. Last time we were there, she had kittens.

They have a really great breakfast burrito there too. It's huge and very tasty.

I agree that WWS is very good, especially for the price! There is not much seating, compared to some other restaurants in DL & DCA, but like others have said it is hardly ever busy. The outdoor seating in primarily shaded, which is nice on a hot sunny day.

I guess I was expecting a restaurant type place when we went, but it more like a cafeteria style. You walk in, get your tray, drinks and cold food are in the coolers on the left, while desserts and fountain soda is on the right. You pick what you want, go to the register and then order your food. They will bring it to you after you order. Not being very busy allows for this I am sure. :goodvibes

The nachos were DH's fav! We got the beef nachos twice on our trip. It is definitely a place we will eat at again!!! popcorn::

I was going to post a couple pix but didn't know if anyone wanted that. :)

There is inside seating as well as outside. We sat outside b/c it was a lovely day. :goodvibes

Bunpershoot why wouldn't we want pictures? ;) In other words , Yes please! How long does it take to walk to WWS from say the entrance plaza between the two parks? I can't visualize things in my head and am having a hard time trying to wrap my brain around the distance. Is it worth popping to WWS while you are in Disneyland or do most people do it other times. I would really like to try the nachos there but wouldn't want to lose a huge amount of time to do it. I can't wait until we get there and finally have a reference for where everything is.

From WW to Downtown Disney-3 minutes
From Downtwon Disney to security-5 minutes
Security to the gates-2 minutes

So ten minutes? Maybe less?

If you are in CA, go through the at GC by River Run. Hang a left, follow the sidewalk as it goes right, and WW is on your left. Maybe 3 minutes from River Run?

Either way, not long at all.
