White Rose Motel - Hershey, PA

Thanks for the feedback on the hotel. We were in Hershey this past weekend also. We stayed at the Radisson Penn Harris hotel in Camp Hill for $85.00 a night. The ride was not bad to the park. 20 minutes and no traffic.

I have no complaints about the hotel.

You might be right about the water temp. problems due to the location of the room. We stayed on the other side on the 2nd floor looking towards the office.
Maybe that part has less of a issue with the water temps.

I am going to have to remember to attach my DISboard pin to a bag or purse if we go to Hershey during the Christmas season this year. Maybe we will see other DISers.

We have never been to Hershey Park before. We are going this summer. We are going to stay at the Hershey Lodge. I am a little concerned now after reading some of your reviews. We are paying $200./night. Does anyone that has stayed here before love the place? Should I request the tower room? Is it much nicer?

When we stayed at the Hershey Lodge last December, we stayed in a Tower Room and were very happy with it. We have never stayed in one of the outside rooms so I can't comment on that. We had a king room, because my DD sleeps on a child's Aerobed and had more than enough room for the three of us in the room. It was very clean and spacious.

We went to Hershey Park two years and stayed at the nearby Marriot which was wonderful. It was my DD (25), my DNce (4) and DNph (5). They have a indoor/outdoor pool the kids fell in love with. While our hotel stay was great our park visit was not. I hated Hershey Park with all those hills! What were they thinking? Now I have a bum knee, but my DD is very healthy and able and she found it very difficult to be pushing a stroller with 2 children up and down those hills in the summertime. What possessed them to make the park that way? I've never seen and will NEVER again see that again for I will NOT be visiting Hershey Park again. Even the kids parents, both in their 20s found it very hard to navigate. Its a shame too, its only 2 hours away from where I live. Anyway, my point here was that the Marriot was about 10 minutes away and we got a rate of $79 and it was a beautiful hotel for that rate. The restaurant in the hotel was overpriced but we were too tired to go anywhere else.

We need a room for Saturday, October 1st (road trip to see the Rolling Stones, All By Ourselves :teeth: ) We won't be going to the park, only to the concert. Most of the area hotels were sold out or had raised their rates for the event - nothing like some old fashioned price gouging.

The White Rose had a 3 day minimum, too long for us to be away. The only place we could find for under $100/nt was the Red Carpet Inn @ $59.99 + tax. I'm told it's less than 1 mile to Hershey Stadium, guess we could actually walk.

Yahoo Travel gives it 0 stars - never a good sign. AAA doesn't have it listed at all. Anyone have any experience with this establishment? It's address is 210 Hockersville Rd, off Rt 422. Thanks.

Funny to find this old thread Pigletto. We were just looking at this hotel for 2 nights in July on our way to Williamsburg. Now anybody have any recent recommendations. All the popular ones are booked. We are leaving Hershey to head to Williamsburg for a week. We are coming from north Ontario. Thanks

I didn't even realize it was old. We're season passholders and go there spring, summer, fall and winter and typically stay the Comfort Suites Hummelstown. I did splurge and stay once the Hotel Hershey in one of the stand-alone cottages and it was really, really nice. But the price was much was easier to handle split between 6 of us.

I have stayed at White Rose twice - stayed for one night back in 2010 or 2011 and it was very old and run down - the Hershey Lodge is wonderful yet pricey

I stayed there in December and I do not recommend it. Hotel is older and didn't seem clean. I also didn't feel safe there. Neighborhood is fine and I travel solo plenty but it I felt a little uneasy that time.

We stayed in the new Hampton Inn in Hummelstown( literally next door to Hershey)
