On a whim, I changed a previous ADR due to bad timing to something that fit in our schedule but had the same appeal of "never gone there before and never seeing this resort in person", so I booked it.

Whispering Canyons. I heard it is a hoot...more detail? I have kept mums the word for the rest of my party because it seems unexpected fun... but what else besides the ketchup thing?

Thanks....:yay:

To be honest, the only time we ate there, we were served well but basically ignored. We had heard that we would be teased and made fun of, but nothing.

Saying that, the food was good (we did breakfast) and the lobby of WL was worth the trip. It is a beautiful resort, and we loved walking the grounds and exploring the resort.

They didn't pull any of the hyginx on us but they had a fun horse race with people on stick horses that was fun to watch. Food was unexpectedly good too

I have heard that if you drink your beverage fast then they will bring you a HUGE refill. If you ask for "a little more" then they bring you a tiny cup!

We love Whispering Canyon for breakfast! Always have had good service and food was great too. When you go make sure to ask for the ketchup!

We had so much fun there. We went for dinner and our waiter was a riot. My daughter said it was her favorite. The waiter gave her a nickname of "sassy pants". He threw like 5 straws at her, of course the ketchup thing. My DBF was given the big refill. He just kept making jokes with us the whole time!!! Will definitely be in our plans for next trip

will be going there in august for the first time. i heard this place has good food and a great atmosphere. this is one of the places that i am looking forward to trying.

We had dinner there on Father's Day. DS drank his coke fast so he was given a half gallon Mason jar on the refill.......lots of straws thrown around and she had him make a long straw with them. You have a disc that you turn on red to not be part on the fun or green saying ok. They also have these jail bars they are using now. This was the first visit I saw them. I saw several people in jail. Food was wonderful. We all did the skillet. Server was very talkative and made it a great meal.

The horse race was enjoyed by young and old this yr not just the kids

We are trying this for the 1st time in October for breakfast. I hadn't heard all this stuff about the restaurant before, I'm really excited now!

They do some antics that are all in good fun. In our experience as two adults, we've seen it primarily geared towards groups with outgoing kids. If someone asks for ketchup, the server makes an announcement and kids from all over the restaurant will drop ketchup bottles off at your table. If you ask for a straw, the server will bring you 30. If you ask for a drink refill, they'll bring you a gallon size mason jar full. Stuff like that. Our server sat down while taking our order and acted like a buddy, shooting the breeze and hanging out for a minute. Obviously very casual, and not for those who are sensitive to that kind of stuff. It's also very noisy. Lots of fun for kids and groups, and good food too!

Sounds like fun!!

Let's see .... Sandy and I have been booking WC for every breakfast, 8 days a trip, two trips a year, for about 10 years :). I guess it's pretty obvious that we LOVE the place :).

The food is great, the staff is even GREATER. We've seen people come in for the first time, early and grumpy - they never LEAVE grumpy :). The antics are so varied that one could just about write a book on 'em :). Worried about antics? Don't be - you'll be asked if you want a little coaster "green side up" or "red side up" - as in, "I feel like playing today" or "I just want to watch".

By now, just about EVERYONE knows what happens when you ask for ketchup :). New tricks revolve around the Birthday Treat that folks with a birthday will get - not gonna give it away :).

One of the cutest things is the Pony Ride - even if, like us, one's children are all grown up & starting their OWN families. It's great to see children having FUN at WDW, and entire families starting their day with a big smile on their faces :).

Favorite Servers.... "Hickory", "Bridget", "Doc", "Jeffro", "MT", "Christan", "Chad" (I mixed a couple of real names in with the stage names, only because we KNOW everyone pretty well). John Paul, George, and Emmanuel will often be on the front desk & table assignment duties :).

Please... GO HERE. This restaurant is far more than a place to eat - it's an entire FAMILY :).

We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge next month and we are having dinner here the 1st night we arrive...I can't wait!!!

We are taking a first timer to WDW and have lunch scheduled there as our first meal of the trip. This is going to be her first Disney meal and first Disney experience, I'm hoping that it's a memorable one!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! It's now on my must go to every time we go. Ive never had anything super crazy happen but it's fun to watch others. I took my kids the last time and they loved the wooden horse races. We got straws thrown at us though. My kids thought that was just crazy!

Check out my dining review in progress from last month. The link is in my signature. We had a great waitress. Lots of antics!

When you get to your table there is a card on the table that asks if you wish to participate on one side and not participate on the other. When your server comes by, if you have not participate flipped up, you will not be part of the craziness. They assume you wish to be left alone and not get the "treatment". Don't forget to ask for straws, napkins, ketchup and a refill on your drink. Just a few of the antics. I also found that if you start to give your server a hard time right off the bat, they really get into it with you. Lots of fun.
