My friend and her family are going to Disneyworld from September 1-7. I was helping her book her dinner reservations. I never did a lot of dining when we went. We ate out of the park or did food court or counter service. They got a great deal. The dining plan was added for no extra charge then she was paying for park and room. Anyway, what is Whispering Canyon like? I hear a lot of people saying good things but I never heard exactly what. Is it hard to get to? They are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and what park should they go to that day? The rest of the places I chose for her are: Boma, Chef Mickeys, Cinderellas table, Alfredos (Epcot), Sci-Fi. I called on the phone for her and picked all these places on the spot. I then went into this part of the board. Do you think she should change any or all?

Whispering Canyon Cafe is located in the Wilderness Lodge and is easy to get to from the parks. Just grab a bus to the Wilderness Lodge or if you're at the Magic Kingdom, hop on the boat that goes there. I tried this for the first time in 2003 and really enjoyed it. Thought the food was hot & tasty and the service was very good. Dinner tends to be more crowded than lunch, and for some reason, a little louder. For a bit more quiet, you can ask for a table away from the main area (there's a few tables just off the main restaurant). Some of the cm's will do bird calls & they'll have wooden horse races around the restaurant.

As far as the other places to dine, I'd skip Chef Mickey's and do O'hana's or the Crystal Palace instead (much better). I'd also strongly recommend the 50's Primetime at MGM. Great food & service there.

it is a very rowdy resteraunt where the witers/waitresses pull stunts and exagerate everything. They will bring you large and lot of different things. A large coke could be a bucket and ask for 1 straw or bottle of ketchup could be 30.
