I have read several posts, and seen some pics,
What is the deal if you ask for ketchup? and is there really a bucket o' coke?

I have three boys, 10, 11 and 12 its our first disney trip and this seems like the place to eat with my guys. Is the atmosphere really comical and relaxing?

It depends on your server. Ours was nice enough but didn't get into any of the antics. We were seated way in the back and our food wasn't very good either. We could hear screaming from the main dining area but we weren't involved with any of it. If you go, make sure that you request to sit in the main dining room and hope that you get a good server!

We went at lunch. We were seated in the main dining area but the restaurant wasn't busy and none of the waitstaff seemed interested in doing anything fun. We ordered the skillet and we enjoyed the food but don't count on being entertained.

I went to the WC for dinner in May and I LOVED it! The atmosphere was amazing. My DMIL and I tricked my DFi to order some ketchup. It was probably the meal that I enjoyed the most during that trip. I think that your boys would enjoy it. :)

It can get pretty lively there....a few years back there was a point during dinner where they had everyone waving their napkins over their heads for some reason and just when I got into it the waitress came up from behind and I hit her arm with the napkin. Shame she was carrying someones dinner at the time! It was a mess and I felt bad but in the end everything got cleaned up and despite the mishap we all had a great time.

We can't tell you about the ketsup. That would take the fun out of it.
You just have to discover that yourself.
And you might want to ask for a straw too.:rolleyes1

But yes it can be alot of fun with a great server.
With an average server it's nice.

You also have to 'help' make the fun. Folks can't just sit back and expect the servers to do all the work in making it a good experience.

When we went in August with a group of 15, only my family of 4 knew what this restaurant 'held' in terms of entertainment and fun. All I said to the group was "This place is like no other restaurant you've been to, and you'll learn that a lot of what your mother taught you about eating out isn't adhered to here".

It didn't take long for my group to realize that THEY could have fun with the servers too. One of the assistants started walking past our table, clip-clopping the tray stand and giving my BIL a look everytime he walked past. Well, my BIL found out his name off his tag and said "Next time he walks past, lets SCREAM his name". We did...and the look the server gave us was priceless, and then he smiled broadly. It turned out to be our 'schtick' during the meal, and every time he walked past we shouted his name.

There were lots of other things we did to play along. I will say, there were parties in the restaurant that looked at us like we were crazy...but we were having TONS of fun and just didn't care. We watched other servers get into the antics, but when the group at the table just sits there and smiles a little, laughs a little, the server can't really know whether its appreciated or they're just being polite. Our servers learned right from the start we were willing participants (especially because we really joined in with stuff of our own) and really went with it.

The dinner lasted over two hours, we were having such fun. We agreed that as we were leaving, we'd all march very loudly out through the restaurant and holler "goodbye" to our servers. The manager of the restaurant grinned widely at us as we walked out, as he knew we'd had a terrific experience.

The deal with ketchup is, if you ask for ketchup, sometimes the waiter will yell out that the table needs ketchup, so every table that has ketchup is supposed to bring their ketchup to your table. It was hysterical-my family didn't know about this, so when my son asked for ketchup, we ended up with probably 10 bottles on our table. I've also seen waiters throwing handfuls of straws at you, bring someone a HUGE glass of soda, and they have stick pony races around the restaurant. ***we had a great time in May, but I've heard from others it depends on the mood of the waiter and the restaurant at the time. Best of luck, we loved the food and atmosphere and are going again in January!!

We were there last week at about 8pm, the resturant was full. I would definitely be asked to be seated in the main dining area. Although our server Lazy Susan, tried to take good care of the people back there. We both got and delivered ketchup. The boys (11 and 5) loved it. She threw napkins and straws at us. We delivered crayons! We swung our napkins over our heads. There were pony races for the little ones (although DS5 wanted no parts, the other kids were cute!) We saw a bucket of lemonade brought out.

The table next to us was having a grand ole time and kept asking for beer, but no one brought it to them, finally someone at another table DID ask for beer instead of kecthup and they were thrilled hooting and hollering. Now the other side of us had no clue and didnt seem to be participating too much.

Finally we all got up and did the Hokey and Pokey, and you know "that's what it is all about":dance3:
