We love WC and the fun involved there (that we experienced one time). The first time we went in 2005, we had a wonderful server that helped us participate in all the fun things. In 2006, we had a really bad, dull server that didn't participate in any of the fun. We are going again in 2007 and hope to have the same fun experience as in 2005. Has anyone requested something like that and do you think that's possible to ask for a "fun" server? Tell me your experiences.

If you are willing to wait a little extra, when you get to the podium tell them both that you would like to be toward the center of the room and to get an "active" server. Let them know you are willing to wait a little extra but you would like to be a good participant.

Thanks for the info. I have never been, I heard that it was fun and I want to check it out next year.

On the flip side, I've always wondered if there is way to get a "dull" server.:rotfl: DH doesn't like a lot of attention, so I always wondered how to get to eat at places like this.

Well, this wasn't at Whispering Canyon, but at 50s Prime Time. I asked for an "Active" server and was told I had to take the next table available...they wouldn't even let me wait, although I was willing to. Let me tell you, I had the most BORING server..he made NO effort at all. The only fun we had was the host who seated us.

Now at Whispering Canyon, our server was Dusty Trails and once he gets going..Man, We had a ton of fun there.

I have had the same experience at both 50s & WCC.

People are saying it's cause of being on the DDP. I'm thinking it's true. We've been at both restaurants multiple times & had a GREAT time, then we went with the DDP & it was as dull as can be, at both in the same week. We're trying again without DDP, so we'll see how it goes. :confused3

Actually, I just read a review on another site that said there is a smaller room off to the side that is away from the action. They were upest because they could not be in on the action. Sounds perfect for your hubby.:thumbsup2

I dont think that is true at all. We have been to whispering canyon and 50's prime time on the DDP and had great times at both. I think it really depends on your server.

Thanks for the advice. Both times we've been were on the DDP. We'll try again this year and ask for the "active" server!!:cheer2:

I wasn't on the DDP and had both experiences in the same week. To be honest, my dull server at 50's actually seemed to make more of an effort with the people on the dining plan. He recommended apps for them and brought them the dessert menu....with us not being on the plan, he didn't do that..I actually had to borrow the dessert "menu" from the table next to us.

wasn't sure how DH was going to react to WCC. Deputy Doug practically had him in the Pony Races!!! He is not a truly outgoing personality (that's me!!!) and I always worry that he's not going to like places like WCC. But he had a ball!! Thanks Deputy Doug wherever you are!!

We were in that room a couple of years ago and Judith was our server - we had a GREAT time - we had a bday boy (39) and she had him ride the pony, she did the straws, she brought him drink after drink, another in our party got bottles and bottles of ketchup and a teen girl in our group was brought a big spoon - and that is all I can think of just typing here!

There were maybe 4 tables in that room and she played them great! Another guy was alone at a table and on his cell phone and she came in and YELLED at us to be quiet because this gentleman was on a very important call -- -it was soooo funny.

At any rate we got in plenty of the action and were able to also hear each other talk since we weren't in the larger room -- we loved that room but I would not have considered it quiet or not active (that day anyway!)

We were on the dining plan, and we had a great time.

First, we showed up 11 minutes late. How do I know it was exactly 11 minutes? Well, the host yelled over the microphone, "Hey everybody, let's congratulate this family. They are 11 minutes late for their reservations." :lmao: Then we had Lil Mama as our server. SHe was WONDERFUL. It was our son's 12th b-day, and she made him ride a hobby horse around the restaurant and sing Happy Birthday to himself. It was a mother of a teen-ager's dream. He was so embarrassed. We had the usual antics, and just a great time!

Ohhh, I can't wait now!!!! I am definately gonna ask for a fun server!!!

We got put in the back room at WC last time we ate there. I'm guessing it's because we were two adults alone without kids...the adult ratio seemed higher out there. The wildness didn't carry over to that room, but that was okay with us...we like active but can take it either way.

I was going to ask about this...are couples without kids less likely to get in on the "fun"? I want to eat at WCC when DH and I go in January, and I actually want to be in an "active" section.

Sounds great for me as well, the food looks good but the fun looks a bit embarrising.
