Whispering Canyon question

We're going to be taking my nephews (ages 4 & 7) out to dinner one night on our trip (while their parents enjoy a night out), and I've been trying to think of somewhere fun to take them. Based on some other posts I've read on this board, it sounds like Whispering Canyon might be something they would enjoy, but I'd like to learn a little more about the place and it's "entertainment".

I was wondering if someone who's been to Whispering Canyon could describe some of the "antics" that go on there, so I can figure out if this is something my nephews would enjoy.

THANKS!

I know they have Horse Races using the old "stick" horses. One tip I read about the race is have the smaller kids in the back so they don't get run over by the older kids if they happen to trip or fall.

I am going to WCC on our next trip and can't wait to dig into their Canyon Skillet. From everything I've read, it's a great time and, if you like to join in with the fun, it's even better. :teeth:

Can't wit to go back. The food id good. The entertainment varies according to your server. Some really get into the role and others don't. The stick races are fun and they told us that they were to walk then, no running. We did ask for ketchup up and ended up with about 13 bottles. Later on we got to take ours over to another table that asked. I think that they will enjoy it. At times they play the hockey pockey.

My DH and I went in July alone and had a wonderful time, even without the kids. We are going back in October and made this a priority to take the kids to. The food is great and the atmosphere is fun and chaotic. Silly songs, horse-stick racing, practical jokes and an overall good time. Your nephews should have a great time (and so will you!).

Enjoy!

We went with our two boys, ages 2 & 5, and we loved it! Very rowdy & raucous atmosphere, lots of jokes, ribbing. A few examples- a gal was talking on her cell phone and her servers YELLS- "EXCUSE ME---EVERYONE???!----CAN YOU KEEP IT DOWN--THIS LADY IS ON HER CELL PHONE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" So then of course everyone yells and makes a lot of noise. It was a teenage girl's birthday and she had to stand on her chair so we could all sing to her. A kid at a table two down from us needed a red crayon- so the server YELLED "Hey, anyone got a red crayon? He needs one over here.." And he proceeded to get about 15 red crayons. I thought it was just plain hilarious, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea. My parents took the boys back another night while DH and I had a "date" because everyone liked it so much. And the food was good too! We liked everything on the skillet except the stew.

They have lincoln logs to play with too. The Wilderness Lodge is absolutely beautiful so be sure to enjoy the property both inside and out.

It's a great place to go with kids and the resort is fabulous as mentioned - book with confidence and enjoy!

We'll be eating dinner there on 10/10 with our DS4 & DD2. Look for our report when we get back!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We ate there this past Wednesday and the ketchup bit had the two 4 year olds at our table in absolute hysterics! When my daughter asked for a straw the waiter threw straws all over our table - she loved that too! It's a fun place - the food was good - nothing spectacular but I'd go again for the fun. They also have amazing mudslides!
