Whispering Canyon or Homecoming?

I am trying to plan our first day. We will arrive before lunch, so I am trying to decide if we should go to Disney Springs and eat at Homecoming or enjoy Whispering Canyon? What are your thoughts? I think we will be going to Animal Kingdom that afternoon to enjoy Pandora and close out with Rivers of Light.

My answer to this depends on where you're staying and how early you'd like to get to AK?

Travel day is full of uncontrollable delays. How are you traveling? What is your scheduled arrival time? What time do you have to getup to start your travel?
The answers to these questions affects my advice. But I do not recommend s both Disney Springs and AK on arrival day

We have eaten at Homecoming three times and it has been great.

We've eaten at both and actually prefer WCC but many do like Homecoming.

If you're planning to go to a park I'd stay with a resort restaurant and do DS on a day you can spend more time there. Also easier to the park from WL as opposed to taking 2 buses to AK from DS (you will have to transfer buses).

With Chef Smith Homecoming you will probably spend more time in transit as well as in the restaurant.

WCC is actually a fun lunch and more low-key than breakfast & dinner (usually) and then you can just hop on the bus to AK from there.

While we really enjoyed Homecoming, WCC might "feel more Disney" ...there are so many restaurants and shops at Disney Springs it might be fun to take a break later in your vacation and head over there.

I think Homecomin' has better food but on my arrival day I would go to WCC so I would be close to a park.

Thanks! We are driving in. We are planning on being there by 11 at the latest. I think WCC is probably going to win out! I was thinking about Art Smith's Homecoming and thought the same about getting to AK from DS.

We love Homecomin. Have eaten there several times and enjoyed everything.

Not at all fans of WCC. Dislike the "antics", the noise and just average quality food.
