Whispering Canyon - fun at lunch?

This is a REALLY common question... Lunch is usually not as fun as dinner... Not as many antics happen from the reports I have read. I would try my best to get a dinner ressie if possible, even if its earlier in the day, just as long as its during the dinner time.

You know I did search on "whispering canyon lunch" and got 5 threads, none that addressed what I needed. Maybe search isn't working so well :confused3 ? Or maybe it's operator error! :rotfl:

Anyway, the problem is I can't get an ADR until after 8 pm, a little late for my kids - I don't know, we might have to save it for another trip :( Too bad, they really would enjoy it.

Thanks for the reply!

we have done lunch, going for dinner this time around. And there were some antics, maybe not as many as I've heard about from others (dinner) but it was still fun just the same. I think it really depends on the crowd too, we kinda dined at an off time, purposely. 2 things that come to mind was: they celebrated a little boys birthday and invited my son up to help sing and then eat the birthday cake, you should have seen the look on the kids face and my DS's too.....it was quite funny. They also got all the men in the room up front to 'do' the little tea cup song......I fell out of my chair laughing, my DH is not so 'outgoing' so to see him do this was hysterical. There were a few other things, but these I will remember forever.

activities do go on during lunch, but it's much more subdued than dinner.

Lunch does tend to be the quietest period of the day at WCC, probably because it's the least crowded time of day. Breakfast & Dinner are more traditionally the "high energy" times.

We went for lunch during our last visit and I was so disappointed! Our server was antic-less and because we had an early seating, there were only a few tables occupied. So, if lunch is all you can get an ADR for...make sure it is truly at "lunch time" so the restaurant will be full. We might have had a different experience if we'd shown up an hour or so later.

We recently, 4/8/07, had ADR's for lunch (1:00 PM) at WCC and were very disappointed.:sad2: The "antics" were minimal and service was less than good. The food was OK, especially the ribs, but we decided it's not worth a return trip. Maybe next time dinner, but after DW & DD12's reaction, that would be a push.

Thanks for the replies. I have an outgoing, crazy family so I want the antics going on for them. So - I broke down and took an 8:40 pm ressie for the night we arrive. Hopefully the kids will be so excited to be at Disney they'll be up for it!

Thanks again for the help :) This is a last minute trip for me, last minute being 2 months out - I'm a planner!

We've done both lunch and dinner there. And it is definately more tame at lunch. There are still antics going on and its fun. But dinner is more fun.
