Hi, we would like to pay OOP at Whispering Canyon for dinner. Does anyone know if they allow splitting the order?
It will be DH, DD5 and DS1 with me. From what I read on-line the 'Canyon Skillet' seems to me recommended / enjoyed, but it just seems like a lot of food. We may split it between DH and me or maybe DD. Any thoughts? Thanks!

The Canyon Skillet is designed for sharing. The cost of it is based on the number of people sharing it, so if you and DH share it you would pay for 2 people, and you'd get enough food for 2 people.

When we went in 2009 myself, mom and DS(then 13) split the skillet and Niece and Nephew each had their own childrens skillet.

I thought it was a great deal and everyone enjoyed it.

:welcome: to the Disboards!

That is the one entree on the Whispering Canyon Cafe menu that cannot be shared. It is an "all you care to eat" entree so everyone partaking of it will be charged.

You can share at any restaurant except buffets, "all you care to eat" family style restaurants, dinner shows (Hoop de Doo, luau, Mickey's barbecue), Cinderella's Royal Table and the above mentioned entree at Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Your 1 year old DS will not be charged at any restaurant unless you specifically order something for him.

You can't split the cost of the skillet, as it is all you can eat. Everyone who eats the skillet will need to pay full price for it. Only the one year old would be able to eat from it without paying.

Thanks for all the replies! I will have to think really hard about whether to put this restaurant on my list or not. So many choices ...*sigh*
We are going on a DDP. I need to figure out the best way to use TS and OOP. We cannot afford to go overboard, but at the same time since this trip is for the kids (mainly DS), we want them to have a fun time.

One thing to note - Whispering Canyon can be a good value on the DDP in many cases. The skillet is a somewhat-pricey (and tasty) option, as well as the steak. However, at least as a year (or so) ago, Whispering Canyon allowed you to choose their bottomless milkshake as a drink choice. This is normally a ~$5 item and might be a nice treat for you and/or your children!

Hopefully some else here who has been recently can confirm if they have discontinued this practice. We are going in June and staying at the Wilderness Lodge so I am interested as well.

I made ADR's for the WCC for April and will be paying OOP. (We're going through Make a Wish and have to pay cash for our meals). I chose this place because of the great reviews it got .. plus my oldest DS (20) really likes this kind of food.
We probably won't eat anywhere near enough food to make it cost worthy as far as food .. but I'm looking more for the experience. I'm really looking forward to it ! :cool1:
