What can you tell me about Whispering Canyon Cafe?

We've never been the food looks good and the desserts even better. We're considering going for dinner. Does anyone have pic's of the desserts? Any opinions? I've read about the antics and while we're not a real "fun" group, we can deal with some crazy lol.

Also, the milkshakes I'm reading about - if you're on the DDP, can you order a milkshake as your drink (like at Sci-fi?)

TIA!

We loved the food at Whispering!! Dining there is a wonderful experience. The boat ride is fun and the atmosphere of the resort is incredible!! You can opt out of the antics during dinner, but they are pretty tame anyway!

Last April when I was there you could get the milkshakes as your drink.

We ate there in September and loved it! The food in the dinner skillet is really good. And we were seated in a quieter room that extended from the crazy room, it was perfect, we'll be asking for a table in that room again this year for sure. You still get people running in and out with ketchup, and the wait staff are still hilarious, but it's much quieter and the decor is more elegant than in the main room. I recommend it :)

If your all-you-can-drink milkshakes leave you too full for dessert while on the ddp, they will let you take away a large bottle of water as your dessert.

The food is good. My DH said it was the best hamburger he's ever eaten at Disney. It's really loud though. We did opt out of any play. We probably won't go back because we like a restaurant to be a little quieter. Yes, I know it's Disney & we did know about the antics, but it wasn't really so much the antics that were loud. It was the volume of people talking in the space. Not sure how to explain it. But if noise doesn't bother you, you'll like it.

No pics but last summer we ate there and it was delicious! Also it was a TON of food. Good thing we had a few park days to walk it off!

I've posted this 100 times on this board, but what we have found over the last 19 years of going to Disney is that with the exception of most of the character meals, which are normally pretty good, the more the entertainment for kids and atmosphere a restaurant has, the worse the food is.

I really like the skillet and milkshakes there. The waiter we had the last time we went was really into it and had us laughing the entire time. I usually try not to participate there but got sucked into it when I shared the milkshake with my wife. The waiter came by with the check and put wooden jail cell door in front of me and had everyone yell for me to buy my own milkshake next time, lol. It was a lot of fun and like I said the all you care to eat skillet is great.

Thumbs up! Even tho we were a party without kids, we enjoyed participating in all the craziness...and all of us agreed everything was delicious! (I had the quesadillas off the app menu and they were super yummy!).

This was my family's favorite meal. We went for dinner, just as they were opening up for dinner. It was not full or loud. There were some antics and our waitress was a little sassy. DH and my kids loved it. We also enjoyed the food. DH had steak and I had chicken, both were really good. I had some type of cheesecake for dessert (which I took to go because they give you a lot of food) and it was really good.

We are looking forward to eating here the first time in July. Thanks for all the info.

Hi,
I'm looking at the dinner menu and some items have "Individual" and some have "Serving"? Are items served Family Style? Is sharing meals frowned upon?

We are paying OOP and I would most likely share a meal with my DS (8 yo). My little one will only want Chicken nuggets and I'm sure we will all get a milkshake. I'm fine with all the craziness, I know my kids will love it. Just trying not to spend a ton of money. LOL.

Thanks!

We are going to try WCC for the first time during our November trip. DH does not like antics and doesn't ever want to go back to 50's Primetime because of that, so I am glad to hear that I can request the quieter room. I've also read recently that they give you a card to put on your table that indicates if you want to play along or not, is that true?

Yes, that is true.

Great meal. We enjoy it with and without our son! We both usually order the skillet and they will bring out 1 and then we will order more of just what we want.

We were there in Sept & enjoyed our dinner there. 3 of us had the skillet & 1 just ordered an appetizer. We were able to opt out of the antics but still received good service & LOTS of food. I think for our 2nd serving they gave us MORE food than our 1st. yikes! unfortunately, we were told the milkshake maker was broken, so we didn't get to try any bottomless milkshakes. :( guess we'll have to try it next time! We were not on the DDP but had TiW which was a great investment even though we only get to use the card for one trip, it easily paid for itself.
