Whispering Canyon Cafe Questions

We make our ADRs on Monday and we're thinking of trying Whispering Canyon Cafe for the first time for dinner. I was looking at pictures online and it looks like all of the tables are for 4? We are a family of 5…2 adults and 3 kids. Will they be able to seat us at the same table?

Anything else we should know about this place for dinner? Food recommendations, best way to get there? We'd be coming from the Magic Kingdom that day, so I think there's a ferry directly from MK to WL??? If that's true, not sure how much time to plan to get there since we've never been to WL before!

Also, we're staying at the Poly, so how would we get back to the Poly from WL that evening?

Thanks!

They do have bigger round tables I believe, and on the sides I have seen them push some tables together for a large rectangle. You shouldn't worry about that. You can ride a bus or the boat from MK to there and the same way back. You will have to go back to MK to get back to the poly by boat or monorail once at MK. We have always enjoyed WCC, but I'm not an adventurous eater and picky about everything.

There were lots of large groups at Whispering Cafe the last time we were there. Being seated together shouldn't be a problem :)

To get back to the Poly you can either bus back to the MK & monorail as suggested by the PP. Or you can take the ferry from WL to the Contemporary, then the resort monorail back to the Poly.

we had lunch there last year , 8 of us we had a large round table.

Only been twice but both times were lovely and both times we all had the skillet. The first time we went we stuck with the skillet (back in 2007) and at the time we had little kids (then 5 and 9) and it was the perfect meal for them.

We went on our last trip in 2012 and they were at that time only serving the skillet for dinner so we all went with that again. We did however have an extra app of the Navajo bread (only because DD was currently doing a topic about native Americans and she had been learning about the origins of Navajo bread) which we thought was delicious. We all loved the cornbread but then it is not something we get in the UK so we are not judging it like you may! The salad was also good. At that time (not sure if it has changed) you chose three meats/fish first but could add others when you had refills and we ended up trying everything and loved it all. The biggest hit with DS was the refillable milkshake although he tried three flavours and wished he'd stuck with the strawberry (the refills are included in the original price and you don't need to stick to the same flavour).

In 2012 the only negative for us was that there was a standard dessert platter which was absolutely disgusting but they have reverted to not including that and therefore you can choose what you want again if on the ddp.

Did we enjoy it? Yes, booked again for August.

Going here for the first time is August with a party of 8. Can't wait! We hear it's quite fun!

Thank goodness they went back to the old way and got rid of that dessert platter. I agree it was disgusting.

I'm curious- what is Navajo bread???

It is often called Indian fry bread and is shaped like a tortilla but a lot more doughy and fried. Taco Bell sort of tried the idea with a chulpa (I think that is what it is called-I don't eat there). They are really good!
