Whispering Canyon Cafe Questions
ok- looking for replacements to have in place in case of first choices not being available.. I see the Whispering Canyon Cafe. (I dont even know where its located)

I was looking at the menus on allears. and came across this:

*****

Rumor has it if you want to "enhance" your experience -- try one or more of the following. IMPORTANT -- these are just suggestions! Depending on how busy the cafe is, servers may not be able to engage in tomfoolery!

PLEASE Note: It has been brought to our attention that someone reprinted this list and then got very upset with their server when all of the items mentioned below were not part of their dining experience. PLEASE don't expect your server to do this entire list or even anything from the list! it is merely a recap of what has produced some interesting antics from previous guest experiences. Whispering Canyon is a themed restaurant and chances are your server may engage in some tomfoolery. But please use this only as a guide for possibly having fun and not a list of expectations! Thank you!

Wear a Hat or T-Shirt from Universal or Sea World
Tell your server you spent the day at an attraction outside of WDW
Tell the server whose birthday or anniversary it is
Have your kids "egg him/her on"
Have one of the males in the group ask where the restrooms are
Claim your straw is not long enough
Chew gum
Ask the server where you can buy some chewing gum in WDW
Ask for ketchup -- but be ready for a little exercise and team building!
Order a soda for breakfast.

can some one explain--- (I am looking at this to replace OHanas just in case.

It is located in Wilderness Lodge. My family enjoys going there. It is a fun place. THe wait staff can be hit or miss. We have had some really fun ones and we have had some who basically just go through the motions. Even if your waiter or waitress isn't into it or your family does not want to participate in the antics, it is fun to watch the other families.

yes, and at WC they do races with the kids with the stick horses. (forget what you call them.) Well all the kids get a stick horse and the gallop around the restaurant. It is pretty funny.

It is a good time.

TONS of food - all american ribs, chicken, salad, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, etc. The food is very good. GREAT BBQ ribs. Family style, all you can eat.

WC is big, boisterous fun, so make sure you enjoy that sort of thing. Once is probably enough for diners without children, maybe even for those with children since the surprise of it might wear off after a time or two.

We went for the first time last year -- there was a great wait staff that night. Be prepared for things like everyone being asked to do the Hokey-Pokey, sing happy birthday, that sort of thing. Plus there are always crazy table antics. If you ask for a bottle of ketchup . . . well, just ask and you'll see what I mean. : ) If you go to YouTube you can probably see a video or two, but I'd suggest just going and finding out there.

I'm glad we went but would not go back unless taking an outgoing someone who's never been there.

I hear you can also ask for "quiet" tables is you prefer not to be part of the action. Just let 'em know.

Good martinis there. I highly recommend if you need to loosen up a bit! Enjoy!

PS: If you're on the Disney Dining Plan, the milkshakes count as a beverage. Oh my gosh. So much food!

Same general idea as 50's Prime Time; Whispering Canyon tends to be a lot more raucous. The food is good enough, and lots of people love the antics. If you're looking for a quiet meal, or aren't into audience participation, look elsewhere.

I had a good meal at WC two years ago. I think I will be going back to eat here one night this September as it just seems like an easy one because I am staying at the WL. Anyway I just wanted to hear from anyone who has had the ribeye there. Is it good? I had meatloaf last time and enjoyed it but I absolutely love a good ribeye.

Had the ribeye in May and it was Wonderful!! :thumbsup2 I am a steak lover and pretty picky and this was one that I really enjoyed.

I was happy to see it back on the menu because when we were there in 2008 it was no longer available.

Hope you have a great trip!

My daughter did not like 50's Prime Time because she was, as she says, 'humiliated'! I would like to go to Whispering Canyon, but she is refusing to go if there is any chance of her being put on the spot. She doesn't want to have to watch everything she does/says in order to not be 'picked on'! Can anyone assure me that it isn't like that?:)
