We'll be at MK and want to go over and check out the Ft.Wilderness/Wilderness Lodge area for dinner along with trying a new restaurant. Would you pick WCC or Trail's End? Why?

Thank you! :thumbsup2

We have enjoyed Whispering Canyon many times both for lunch and breakfast. The food is good and we've always had a lot of fun. We have eaten at Trails End a couple of time but the last time we ate there, we decided never again. It's not bad, but really good either and if I remember correctly, you can't drive to the restaurant, you have to park and take a bus.

Thank you! Does anyone know if you still have to take a bus if you take the boat from MK? :thumbsup2

We had had both. I would choose WCC over Trails End. The food and atmoshpere was better. That is my opinion. To answer your question about the boat. The boat from the Magic Kingdom drops you off near Trails End. You get off the boat and walk up the path and you are there. You do not have to take a bus.

I can't say about Trail's end but We had dinner last week at WCC. The food was good; we all had the skillet - the pulled pork and the brisket were the best; the chicken was cooked to the point of being dry and none of us really ate it - while the ribs were still pink and a little greasy. The mashed potatoes, corn and cornbread were excellent. The only thing that didn't get eaten at all was the salad as it only comes with one dressing and no one cared for the dressing. We had the dining plan which also includes desert. There was so much food with the skillet we took desert to go.

I will say it is very loud. The kids had a blast with the ketchup thing. Oh and we had a crayon incident - that was funny.

Have never done Trails End, but I would pick ANY place (except for H&V) over Whispering Canyon Cafe. Our meal and our service were absolutely horrible at WCC.

Depends on what you like: WC is a little better for children, and TE is a little better for adults. I'd pick Trail's End in a heartbeat.

The food is much better at Whispering Canyon. My kids will not even eat at Trails End. JMO

Like all restaurants, you'll find that people have very different viewpoints. For my family, we'd choose Trail's End over WCC any day. WCC just didn't do much for us - food wasn't bad, just not to our taste. DD did like the bottomless milkshake which was a good thing since she didn't care for her pasta dish and filled up on the milkshake! In fairness, what people tend to rave about is the skillet and DH wasn't very hungry the day we went so he didn't order it. And I don't eat much so it was way too much food for me.

Trails End is not the most elaborate buffet at Disney but it is very good. The fried chicken is something we look forward to. DD loves the pizza. The desserts are my only complaint - I love the little desserts that are at most Disney buffets but at Trail's End they have a minimal selection.

Very convenient to get to - to boat from the MK would drop you off at the dock near Pioneer Hall. A short walk and you are at the restaurant.

Oh, forgot about that. I think if you take the boat, you can walk right up to the restaurant. And I did want to say that the food at Trail's End is the same food served at the Hoop de do Revue, so I always wonder if it's left over from the hoop de the night before.

Regarding the skillets at WCC, the ribs and brisket are probably pink because they are smoked. Smoked meat usually looks pinkish.

The chicken does taste just like the Hoop de Doo chicken which is one of Trail's Ends big attractions for us. But it is definitely fresh, not reheated from the night before. The ribs are the same as well. But they do have additional things like pizza, a fish selection, usually a beef selection, a salad bar, soup, etc.

My family LOVES Trail's End. We have eaten there many times and have always been satisfied every time!
I have to disagree with another poster that said the food seems left over from the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review. Our food has never tasted leftover or re-heated. It is always fresh and delicious. JMHO!! :goodvibes

My family chooses Trail's End over WCC.
