4 adults going to WDW for 4 days first week od December (have never been over holidays). One day we have dedicated to touring resorts and DHS and prefer to go to DHS during evening hours to see Osbourne lights. Is Whispering Canyon Café a good idea for late lunch? None of us need anything fancy. Have seen that Wilderness Lodge is a must see during the holidays. Any other suggestions on must see resorts/restaurants during holidays? Thanks

I have not seen it during the holidays but we love WCC. It is my DH's favorite place to eat. He loves the skillet. We do dinner time there but I would still recommend it for lunch.
We are looking forward to seeing it this holiday season as well.

Wilderness Lodge is a MUST do for the holidays. The lobby is beyond words. My suggestion is make a reservation for lunch, arrive early so you can walk the grounds and sit in the lobby and soak up the relaxing holiday cheer.

We are booked here for our dinner on our first full day. We have booked the sleigh ride first and then dinner at WCC. My other must do is the Grand Floridian, so I have booked the Grand Floridian Cafe for our dinner on arrival night. I also want to check out Board Walk, but I don't have a meal booked there.

:cool1:Loved WCC last year in Dec. We had an early dinner at 5 (4 adults only). Food was great and we had fun. I had it booked before our MVMCP las t year and so I have booked it this year on 10/31 before MNSSHP.

So glad to see these recommendations. I have an ADR there in mid-October, and the most recent reviews I've seen have all been negative.

I was wondering if I should try to make a change - so I again, I'm glad to see positive feedback!

While the WL is gorgeous at Xmas there is no way you could get me to go back to WCC for lunch. We ate lunch there last month and it was so bad, our server was a dull dud, the food was terrible and there wasnt any hijinx going on at all.

WCC was good. We had trouble one year getting an ADR and happened to get one for early dinner on Thanksgiving. The food was limited to traditional dishes and served family style, but it was tasty and abundant. The best part was the XMAS decorations in the lobby. The grounds are beautiful. Another favorite is GF at XMAS. Check out their tree in the lobby. WOW. They also have a huge gingerbread house display. You can actually catch a wiff of the gingerbread. They sell goodies behind the display to eat or take home as well, but pricey.

Our exact experience last September (although we went for dinner and DH got sick on the meat in the skillet). Won't be back.
