I'd love to know too! We have ADR for dinner and will be coming from AKV. Also, we have reservations at 5:00. Will we make the campfire sing-a-long with Chip and Dale at Fort Wilderness? Thanks for your comments!

We went in Aug for lunch, tons of pics in my thread.

The food was horrible, fatty and greasy and just about inedible.

The server, Doc, was a total dud and didnt do any of the fun antics that I have read about. No fun, no games, no jokes, no ketchup run as each table had one bottle of it on the table.

The cornbread was awesome tho

I was there in 2008 and 2009.......Loved it. The food was great and it was lots of fun.
oop posted twice!

We ate at Wispering Cannon for Breakfast December 2007 and 2008.......Loved it. The food was great and it was lots of fun.:cool1:

We love the place... also a big fan of the WL.

That being said, we have had good servers and less-good servers... it is what you make of it.

The BBQ sauce is my favorite... which is odd because I typically do not care for the sweeter BBQ sauces.... I could make a martini with this stuff though.....

As for the question about how to get there. Take a bus to MK and the boat to WL. I love this boat ride. Make sure you leave enough time.

I like the food. We usually get the the skillet. It's good.

We went last month for the first time. It was my least favorite dinner of the week. We loved our server he was great and he made the kids really have a blast. The food was not that good and I thought the desserts were the worst I had all week. Very overpriced for what you get. I would much rather go have an awesome resort meal such as Kona or The Wave!:thumbsup2

We went last year and we really enjoyed it! My niece and I both had the skillet, which was very good. My mom and son had a ribeye steak (which was that night's special) and they thought their food was very good too (my son is definitely not the pickiest steak eater though!) The server was nice, but kind of slow. I would go back, but not till I've tried other restaurants first.

Have a great trip!:goodvibes

We love WCC and the entertainment from the waiters/waitresses are a riot!

The best way to get to there from POR? Well, if you're closer to ADR time, ride the bus to the MK, then hop on the WL bus. But, if you have some time before, ride the bus to the MK, then hop on the WL boat. It's a fun and scenic route!

Whispering Canyons has really great food, and the entertainment is even better. Be sure to get your ketchup and tell them you are thirsty!

We always start our trip off with breakfast at WCC. :) I love the Western Omelette and I'm not normally a breakfast person. For dinner their meatloaf is incredibly good. If you get a good server it can be a lot of fun, especially if you don't mind the noise.

We ate there in may and had a really good time. the only bummer was they were out of the kind of shakes the kids ordered. Lots of ketchup and crayons and...

Food was greasy, but edible. Though I'd say this is not one of the "gourmet" restaurants.

I did find out one great tidbit from our server there - they will serve a kid's grilled cheese sandwich even though it's not on the menu.:thumbsup2

The food is so-so - it's not the best BBQ you will have, but we found it to be okay - our waitress was not very fun, but the other waiters and waitresses were hysterical.

The best thing was watching a grown woman run through the restaurant on a wooden pony singing "Happy Birthday to Me" LOL!!!

Totally agree with you (only we were there for dinner). Horrible food and my hubby got sick on the chicken/ribs in the skillet. We won't be going back.

Wow, I am surprised at the negative reviews of WCC. We LOVED it, great food and great fun. We didn't even have a great fun waiter and we LOVE the place! :thumbsup2

The atmosphere was fun. The food was decent. We had the skillet and honestly I wasn't impressed with much, if anything, in it. It was certainly edible but (like much of the food at Disney now) not very flavorful.

We'd go back if we needed somewhere to eat but it's not on our 'must do' list.

WCC gets TONS of mixed reviews. We happen to love it. Eaten there May 08 and Jan 09 and will definately go back our next trip. Love the atmosphere (ask to sit in the main dining room), the skillet is yummy (greasy but finger-lickin'-good), the mashed potatoes are great and the corn is dripping in butter! YUM! They also have great smoothies and shakes that you can get as your drink if you're on the DDP. For dessert, we've had the whiskey chocolate cake, the fruit plate and the thing that's like a fried tortilla with ice cream. Loved them all!

I would say watching kids going around the restaurant on hobby horses for a race and seeing grandfathers and fathers sing "I'm A Little Teapot" in the middle of the restaurant in unison was pretty darn hilarious.........

And the poor kid that had to stand in the lobby and tell everyone who passed by that the next time he WOULD eat his veggies and not complain was a riot!

Don't forget to ask for ketchup and watch what happens!
