I live in San Diego and went to Cincinnati for Christmas. Both my & my husband's families live there. Two weeks after Christmas, my MIL, DS who is almost 3, and myself took a short, whirlwind trip to WDW!
Monday is now MGM day, due to a threat of rain. We waited again for the bus and arrived to MGM about 9:15 or so. I was so disappointed to find out Little Mermaid was closed, we missed it this summer, so I was looking forward to it. Oh well, next time. We went to the Starring Rolls bakery for breakfast then we went to Beauty & the Beast show. It was really great, DS and MIL both enjoyed it very much. Then we went on Great Movie Ride and Playhouse Disney. This park is so difficult to time the shows well, it was already 1pm, we went to Sci-Fi dine in for lunch without a PS and waited about 10min. The food was very good, I had barbq chicken sandwhich and MIL had a burger, the crinkle fries were so good! But, DS was acting crazy! He was tired and there wasn't much room in the car! We went back to the hotel after lunch and all took a nice rest. There hadn't been any rain all day and DS wanted to go on rides, so we decided to head to MK at about 4:30pm. We went on Buzz 3 times, Pooh twice, Small World twice and Peter Pan. Then we discovered the restaurants closed at 6pm, and it was already 6:30! So, we headed for the monorail and went to Epcot! DS fell asleep for a little while in the stroller as we headed for World Showcase. We ate at China and the egg rolls and sweet & sour chicken were pretty good. DS just had peanut butter crackers. Then we walked through the Int'l Gateway back to the Beach Club. We were so whipped! We actually went to three parks in one day! We all slept really well that night!
Tuesday we have to check out today but first, we had breakfast at Goofy's Beach Party at Cape May Cafe, in the lobby. The food was not very good at all, very disappointing. MIL said the eggs were terrible. The pancakes were cold and they didn't have cheese danish (my favorite). The restaurant was practically empty though. Goofy, Chip & Dale came to the table several times. One of them even colored with DS on the placemat. We also saw Minnie at the entrance. Then we went upstairs to finish packing and had them store our bags for us. We headed out to Animal Kingdom, and waited again for the bus about 15min. We arrived at about 10:30 and went to Festival of Lion King first, which we had missed this summer. It was amazing! DS loved the trampouline work, he is in a gymnastics class at home & loves to jump! Afterward we got a frozen banana, yummy! Then went to Safari, it was v. good, but the animals were a bit lazy already. The giraffe was right along the road though, almost in the road! MIL really enjoyed it. Then we went to Maharajah Jungle Trek to see the tigers. This was a very nice trail, we didn't do any of the trails this summer (too hot). Then to ride Triceratop Spin and get DS a baby Dinosaur. We then left and went to Rainforest Cafe for lunch. It was very good, DS even ate his Dino-chicken nuggets and fries. I had a smoothie and barbq beef wrap. We went back to the hotel, and got a ride to the airport. DS was tired and acting crazy, I'm so glad my MIL was there to help out at the airport. Once on the plane, DS was very good. We changed planes in Dallas and DS slept the rest of the way home.
Although a bit chilly, this turned out to be a great few days at WDW! I hope to go back again after Christmas sometime, once the next baby, due in July, is two or three yrs old. It was a great time to visit WDW!
