We were really looking forward to the antics at WC but our server "dusty trails" was miserable and try as we might to get som interaction it simply didnt work!!! other tables were having a whale of a time but not us!1 we wondered if it was because we are brits although everywhere else we received winderful treatment so I guess DT was having an "off" day spoiled it for us though

Yeah.. it's disappointing to have a CM who's having a bad day. It really does take away some of the "magic". Sorry you had a bad experience. I suggest you try again next visit, though.. because it can be tons of fun if you get the right CM :)

sorry to hear that. The first time we were at WCC, our server didn't do nearly all the antics we were expecting. We didn't even get the ketchup treatment.

However, the second time we went there, we had a blast. Our CM was wacky and really played along with us. The third time we went, again we had a great CM.

I think it all depends on the CM too. Some CMs I've noticed are more subdued, and some are just plain nuts! Nowadays, we just go with the expectation of eating the good food, if we get a nutty CM, all the better. The one thing the kids really cared about was the ketchup. Better have tons of them.

I wonder if it also depends on other things such as group size and time? When we went in 2001, we had group of 6 adults at lunch time (12:30 pm) and our server interacted with us quite a bit (let's just say we ended up with hats).

When my DH and I went last year by ourselves for dinner (about 8:30 pm), we had a very quiet meal with "normal" service (which I must say was appreciated this time-- we were just plain tuckered and I think our server was, too).

So sorry you had an "off" experience :(

We went this summer and were so excited for some goofy behavior, but NOTHING!! We were so disappointed. The food was alright, but we wanted to laugh from the antics, and it didn't happen at all. What luck! It took us 1 1/2 hours to get there from POR too! Just our luck!!

That's really too bad - we went twice on this last trip (we were staying at the WL so it was more for convenience than anything) and we got hats, straws thrown at us, I got one of those huge jugs of water...it was fun! I wasn't that impressed with the food, but the kids loved the pony rides and all of the silly stuff that went on there.

Stinks you got a bum CM.

We've been twice-once over a year ago and the other this past Easter-we were also Denied.

From what I understand, it is not a restuarant that started out with wild antics. It just sort of happened with some over zealous cast members. Later other cm's got into the act. I know they try to read you as they start in on you. If you look like you don't want it, you might not get it. Also, there are some CM's that just don't have the personality to do that. Now it would be discrimination to not let someone work there because they are dry and or shy or just plain boring. It really is just the luck of the draw as who you get.

No one should ever expect to get this treatment here. If you do you may get let down. That is the point of the place, its unscripted and unpridicable. If they did the same thing for every table, all the time, it would get to be a real bore. Just go with the flow.

It is kinda like asking to be tagged by the tag fairy. If you ask for some ketchup, expecting the big fuss over it, the good CM's can read this and they may not do it to trip you up. They want to get the people who ask for ketchup and have no idea what is in store.

If you want it, play dumb and innocent. (if the cm is not one of the shy, dry, boring ones.)

When we visited, we had a miserable cast member. He kept rolling his eyes at all of the antics going on. Very unDisney like!
We just ignored his attitude, and had fun anyway.:D

We went last year and also had a off day. We were disappointed because our previous visit 6 months earlier was great. So this year we marked this restaurant off our list. We weren't all that crazy about the food either.

We have eaten there two or three times and were relieved to be spared the antics. I don't blame you for being disappointed if that's why you ate there.:D
