Just a short post (I am headed back to bed)

I am soooooooooooo sick..... throwing up a couple of times a day, nausous ALL the time.....

I am 7 weeks along and I just cant understand how something smaller than a pea can make a grown person SOOOOOO SICK!

Plus we are due to leave for WDW in 4 days....... SOmething tells me we are not going to see or do much at the World this trip..... BUt I refuse to cancel!!!! (non refundable airfare, points to go into holding, to late to cancel US/IOA's RPH, plus the need to go)

We are blessed.... and I keep telling myself that...... but honestly I dont know how much more of this I can take. Eating make me throw up..... not eating makes me throw up (and that is the greater of the to evils.... let me tell you!) Certain smells put me over the edge too................ Esp DH after he eats mexican.... if you know what I mean.... YUCK YUCK YUCK!!!!!!!

I hope and pray that the excitement of WDW takes the MS off my mind enough to at least walk around.......

Okay, enough whining..... back to bed for me.

Oh no, that sounds miserable. :(

You have more strength than I would to try and attempt a WDW trip feeling that way! Have you asked your doctor about any suggestions to help with the nausea that are safe for pregnant women? I think I'd be desperate to try something.

{{{Hugs}}} and I hope the trip does make you feel better! :)

I agree. There are medications that can help. My girlfriend had to take them with one of her pregnancies. She started to get dehydrated because she couldn't even drink. Hope you feel better soon.

Poor thing. I hope you can get something to help you. And I hope it doesn't ruin your trip. Take care.

I didn't get very sick when I was pregnant, but certain foods I could not eat, could not cook, could not even look at.

{{{Hugs}}} You have my complete sympathy. I was where you are just about 2 months ago. (I'm 19 weeks, and my morning sickness ended exactly at the end of my first trimester.)

There may be absolutely nothing that will make you feel completely better, but try different things to see if you can get some relief. Ginger works for some people. Carrying candied ginger around with you may help. Also, when you're not so nauseated that the thought of food will make you sick, think about what will make you feel better. Think about flavors (fruity, salty, sour, etc.) and textures (smooth, crunchy, creamy, etc.). If you think of something that will work, eat it. You don't have to be concerned about perfect nutrition at this phase. It's the placenta that's developing faster than the baby, and studies have shown that women who don't get enough nutrients actually develop better placentas.

If you have time, read the book No More Morning Sickness before you leave. I got it from the library at the beginning of my pregnancy, before I actually knew I was pregnant, and it did help some. I never felt completely wonderful, but I felt good enough to DIS, and that's what's important. ;)

Even though it's been 23 yrs I remember having that kind of trouble with my 1st pregnancy. Smells! :( Poor DH brushed his teeth at least 6x/day - at least.

Have you tried taking vitamin B6? For some reason, women whose B6 levels are low have worse morning (noon & night) sickness.

The other thing that I know helped me was to eat many "small meals". My doctor told me that pregnant women's blood sugars run 70 - 110 instead of 80 - 120. (I believe those #s have changed, but that was the theory.) Women whose sugar was lower tended to have more morning sickness.

I know it's difficult to think about eating when you feel so bad, but nibbling all day may help.

{{{HUGS!!!}}} I hope you feel better & enjoy your trip!

My DD's OB told her to take Unisome at bedtime. It was originally marketed for morning sickness but the company was bought out and the new one made it into a sleep aid.

Take one a bedtime. The anti-nausea effect lasted until 11am or noon with my DD.

Even if it takes the edge off, it can help.

I feel so blessed to have never had morning sickness when I hear stories like this. I'll say a prayer that you'll feel better for your trip.

ok one more peice of advice lol

My friend had really bad MS and SWORE by those motion sickness band thata you can get at the drug store. theyre for travleing they look like a sweatband with a little dot on them. It's based on accupressure there is a spot on the inside of your wrist that is linked to motion and morning sickness.

Anyway, she said it worked for her.

Thanks everyone for your good thoughts.....

I am trying to find candied ginger, but I fear a trip to China town will be needed....

I have the seabands, but they really dont seem to help and they also cut off the circulation to my hands. lol I may try the www.reliefbands.com and see if that works, Wont be able to get it before the trip though :-( plus it is 100 bucks.

I am already having major food cravings, and plan on starting to indulge them (tonight it will be Mongolian beef....)
I read that protein helps.

As for being sick at WDW, this is a trip planned without the girls. It will be nice to be able to throw up at will (cant do it with them around, they get scared) and sleep as much as I want!

Anyway thanks again for all the hugs and suggestions! Keep them coming. I plan on trying them all!!

{{HUGS}} sweetie. Keep crackers in your fannie pack, keep a bottle of 7UP or ginger ale with you (warm, not cold), rest when you need to.

*PD* for a non-throwing up vacation.

I was actually in your position for nine months. The only positive thing I have to say is that I lost weight and looked great to come home from the hospital. Our daughter weighed 7 and 1/2 pounds and was completely healthy.

ANyway, I had to go on a business trip just about where you are in your pregnancy. I actually felt better when I was out of town than the entire rest of my pregnancy.

Could have been change of scenery or just keeping busy but I did great. Even my doctor was surprised.

Hang in there, you need the time away and maybe you will feel good after all.

And go get some medicine. Tell your OB you want HELP!!

Hope your morning sickness passes quickly.

I eventually had to take phenegren because i was so sick and just could not function during the first 5 months of pregnancy.

The following did help some, sea bands, emetrol (over the counter nauseau medicine) peppermint oil in my water, I ate crystalizied ginger, small meals, red rock ginger ale.

my second pregnancy all I could eat was carbs, they were the only thing that did not make me sick. Both pregnancies I could not eat anything with tomato sauce.

Look at what you eat that makes you sick and you may see a pattern.

Good luck and Congratulations

When eating what you crave, keep it in small amounts. I craved Mexican food (can you imagine?) and would get sick every time unless I ate teeny tiny amounts. I second the eating lots of small meals advice. And avoid the Mexican food! :teeth:

I'm so sorry your not feeling well. I can empathize with morning sickness.

I went to Disney for 14 nights at WL when I was just a couple of months along. I spent 3 whole days in bed feeling like your feeling right now. I also slept in a lot of the attractions...cool, dark places.
There were a lot of good moments though, I hope you can enjoy your trip!
