The Breakers Express is only a few years old - but it is quite pricey (as almost all are) on a weekend in July and August.
The Clarion Inn Sandusky has an indoor pool, and I just checked rates for next July 23rd for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday). Booking now, you can get a AAA rate of $48 for a room with 2 double beds, non-smoking. Of course - it's early to be deciding on a definite date for next summer, but that's one way of keeping the cost down...book WAY ahead!
One good thing about a meet in Chicago is that it would be easy to get nice hotels at cheap prices via Priceline - something that's almost impossible to do near Cedar Point in the summer.
