I want to send my DH a plant for his office. He is always saying he wants a plant for his office, and I just want him to know I am thinking of him

I would post the pictures, but I don't know how to do it!

The 2 plants I am thinking of are:

l. A bamboo plant 5 stalks in a planter thru FTD

2. A plant in a baseball planter from Hallmark

Which one would you send? Do you think it's strange to send your DH a plant.

Thanks for your help.

That's cool. Maybe it would depend on what type of office. Does he have clients come in there? The baseball planter sounds fun and whimsical. The bamboo would be more serious and professional. Nice thought. :goodvibes

No he doesn't have clients come in, he works in HR so some of the employees may come in. I like the baseball one a little more, it even comes with a bag of peanuts.

Has anyone ever ordered from Hallmark for flowers & plants?

How good is he at taking care of plants? Bamboo is very easy to care for.

I think it would be great to send your DH a plant.....
I would totally go with the bamboo!!! A girlfriend of mine ordered one from Red Envelope and had it sent to her DH ~ (lucky bamboo in glass vase - even came with a little story) IMHO, they are very masculine looking and just very cool! It was in a tall square vase with stones in the bottom and the bamboo straight up - yep, definitely the bamboo... Let us know what you decide! :)

This is the story that arrives with the lucky bamboo from red envelope....

According to Feng Shui masters, wherever bamboo is placed, good fortune is sure to follow. With very little attention, your tropical bamboo plant will thrive indoors in comfortable household temperatures. It will grow steadily for many years, producing three to five leaves on each of its stalks. To care for your lucky bamboo, just follow these simple guidelines:
To arrange, place the bamboo stalks in the vase and hold upright.
Fill the container with the enclosed river stones.
Add enough water to cover the stones.
Keep in a cool area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
Change the water when it becomes cloudy to keep the roots healthy. Fertilizer is not recommended.

The other plant is easy to take care of also, I have one at home and all I have to do is water it. The name of the plant is a "golden pothos".

He would need something that you just have to water!

I'd send the baseball one. It's more "manly". I don't think that my husband would like the bamboo.

I would send the bamboo. Around here, seems to be the plant of choice for men! Easy to take care of and needs minimal light. My husband had one that started at a few inches and grew to be about 2 foot long. He brought it home when he changed buildings and the cat chewed it to bits, otherwise he would have it back on his desk.

Anyone else? I like them both and just don't know which one to send. I like the bamboo for the luck and the way it looks with the stones, but I'm not sure if he would.

If it were flowers, I could pick that out in a second!

Bamboo -- esp, if they put it w/some river rocks. If I were sending to Daxx, I'd send a square glass container (a short container) w/black river rocks and bamboo. I think that's very masculine and "current". Hmmm ... maybe I will go out and buy this but put it on the table in the hall.

Well it seems the bamboo plant is the one. I like the baseball one, because of the plant, I'm not a big fan of bamboo - but it's not for me.

I might have DS send him the plant in the baseball planter for something -

I have until later today to order so if anyone else has a suggestion feel free to post!

Thanks,

He would probably appreciates some nudie pictures of you better than a plant. I'd prefer the pics if my wife was gonna send me something to work.

lol depending on dh,, i would send something rubber:) i know any plabnts in my office hjad to be fake,, cause i took care of them, so did the cleaning s taff, thje week end crew,, etc.. they always got over watered and died:)

I would send the bamboo. Very easy to take care of and looks really nice in an office. Make sure you send a really mushy card with it.

I sure wouldn't send MY DH bamboo. His first house had a bamboo hedge in the backyard that grew out of control -- he would think I was mad at him if I sent bamboo!

He would LOVE getting this gift, though. Maybe when I'm not feeling so just- got-back-from-vacation-and-DS's-senior-pictures-have--to-be-bought-this-week poor, I'll do that for him!
