Between Jiko and Artist Point? Not that it matters, but I'd be dining alone.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

If the menu appeals - Jiko! And ask to sit at the bar in the center of the restaurant - The Cooking Place (not the drinks bar near the entrance). You will learn a lot and get to chat with the sous-chefs and servers there. Very nice place to be![]()
I like the dining room better at Jiko, and I adore the AKL.
WL is right up there as far as resorts. I think the lobby is just breathtaking.
That said, I preferred the food at Artist's Point. I wanted to love Jiko, but the food has always been slightly disappointing ... although Jiko's appetizers have been outstanding IMO.
I researched all of the signatures and we ended up choosing Jiko for several reasons...we love "different" food and are always up for something besides "American" style - we like to be adventurous and try different things; I love AKL, it's my favorite resort; the ambiance at Jiko absolutely cannot be beat; we love wine and they have an ENORMOUS selection! We are dining at Jiko on the 17th for our 1 year wedding anniversaryI researched all of the signatures and we ended up choosing Jiko for several reasons...we love "different" food and are always up for something besides "American" style - we like to be adventurous and try different things; I love AKL, it's my favorite resort; the ambiance at Jiko absolutely cannot be beat; we love wine and they have an ENORMOUS selection!
I've never dined at Jiko, but I LOVED Artist Point. I dined there alone and the wait staff was super nice and went over the entire menu. The food was absolutely delicious from beginning to end. The restaurant was very quiet and I was lucky enough to be seated at a table right near the window. From what I've read about Jiko, you have a real tough decision to make. Enjoy your solo trip. I've done Disney twice solo and it's awesome to just do what you want, when you want.
Never been to Jiko, but we adore AP. We always stay at WL so it's very easy to do 1/2 day at park, come back to room to get dressed up, then head downstairs for a nice dinner. We've always had outstanding service, and the meals have been outstanding.
Of the two choices, my wife and I have a strong preference for Artist Point. The dining room is spacious. You don't feel like you're sitting on top of other tables. The food is very good; Pacific Northwest cuisine has some really great choices. The cobbler is extremely good, and definitely worth a trip on its own.
My wife and I didn't care for Jiko. The spot they put us in (a group of 6) was a corner. There was no view of the dining room, which I thought was rather bland when I walked through it, so no loss there. The food was "faux African" in that it was dumbed down and de-spiced for American taste.

I completely forgot about the cobbler!! Go just for the cobbler!!!
Both are very good and you'll be happy with either choice. Personally I'd go for AP simply because I'm not a fan of some of the spices they use at Jiko. Of course that's a matter of personal taste. You'll have to make your own decision on it.
I will be the dissenter here and while we like artist point Jiko in my opinion is leaps and bounds ahead. Besides being a gorgeous restaurant with consistently great service, their food is simply something you can't get anywhere else. They excel at taking familiar proteins and serving them with unique spices and they do both exceedingly well. For example their carrot soup with African spices was hands down the best thing I ate last trip. Add in an amazing South African wine list and getting to try some unique varietals that you can't find anywhere else and you have one of the best restaurants on property
And they have a great bar area and another bar like seating area with a view of the kitchen that is a ton of fun to sit at
