Which would YOU pick?

We'll be heading to Disney next August, first trip as a family with our girls DD9 and DD6.

Ten days, splitting 5 at AKL Jambo (savannah view), but having a tough time deciding for the other 5 days at either BWI or WL.

We'll be going standard view for whichever we choose-- which resort has better standard rooms, and what are some of the other pros/cons for each that might help our decision?

First off, Jambo House is Awesome! I would pick BWI because of Epcot and the Studios ease to go to. It is really easy to go to either of them from there. I know that there is the WL boat for MK, but to me, there is a similar feel about the AKL and WL resorts. In fact, that is why we are going to WL this time, but even though we LOVED AKL, are not going there this time, because it has a similar style to it. BWI is like a whole different world. So, JMO, plus, who doesn't want to be able to be so close to Epcot and the Studios and not be dependent on any transportation if you don't want to be.

BWI is more convienent. And rooms a bit larger.

WL is more like AKL.

I would go with whichever one has the better discount.

We love both (they are our top 2 resorts!) but after staying at AKL, I would choose BWI. You will have a bigger room, be able to walk to two parks and a ton of restaurants, have entertainment on the Boardwalk at night, plus, I think, BWI has a better pool and slide.

I would go with BWI. The convenience to EP and HS and a different feel than AKL.

They are both good choices, but the lobbies of AKL and WL look very similar, so for variety you might go with BWI.

We love WL but the rooms are small. Love the location too as we favor MK over Epcot. Epcot resorts area is lovely though and the was to IG can’t be beat.

if you have PHs or APs, BWI. If not, WL. JMO!

In your case, I would vote BWI just because it is so different than AKL. We are going to WL this summer for the first time, and have stayed at AKL which I think is very similar to WL.

Thanks everyone! A lot of votes for Boardwalk! We've stayed at Beach Club before and really enjoyed the convenience in the Epcot area.

Since my original post I've gotten back pricing from my TA which has WL about $45/night less than BWI. We also plan on doing Hoop Dee Doo, and looking at the pools at both I think I'm digging the more recent refurb and splash pad at WL. Starting to lean towards WL but still tough to make a firm decision! Probably not getting park hoppers.
