Which would you pick? Ohana or Tony's?

We will be at WDW from 3/2 to 3/9. 3/8 is our second MK day. We have breakfast planned at Crystal Palace and I want to do a TS meal on our last night as well.

Right now, I have a 5:20 ADR at Ohana. It sounds like a fun place to try, I would like to see the Poly, and if we are up for it we can go back to MK after dinner. We never were able to make it to Ohana so it's a first for us. But now I'm thinking that this would be too hectic with the 3 kids.

The other option is a 6:20 ADR at Tony's. We all like Italian food and it would be more convenient. We've never eaten at Tony's and I've read mixed reviews of the food but I'm sure we'll be fine. We could do a QS dinner too, but I kind of want to have a nice dinner on our last night.

FWIW, we are also dining at Chef Mickey's, CRT, Sanaa, Kouzzina, Hacienda de San Angel, Biergarten, and Crystal Palace.

We love Ohana, I would stick with that. It would be a nice little break from the park yet close enough to not take to much time away.

Waiting 40 minutes past our ADR when we checked in with plenty of time to receive hurried service, dry meats and peel your own shrimp at a high cost was not fun for us... I much prefer Tony's for convenience, shorter wait time, cost and less rushed service. That said it is NOT fancy Italian - I really like the down and dirty spaghetti and meatballs but if you go in expecting upscale you would be disappointed and better served the spectacle of O'hanas.

I'd do 'Ohana, but I think I'd see if you can't push your ADR to 5:00 instead of 5:20. My one experience and the most recent posts seem to indicate that the later the ADR, the longer the wait. I'd take a 5:00 ADR and get there by 4:30 to be part of the first seating.

stick with Ohanas. i think you will like it, they do stuff for kids so they will have fun too

We've done both...Ohana's hands down. The kids loved it! We were seated within 10 minutes of our ressie time. We did ask if we could have the steak cooked medium rare, and they did it. The dessert is to die for. This was one place that the kids requested for our return trip in May 2011. Tony's is good...don't get me wrong...in fact we are going back there, also. I just prefer Ohana's dining experience more.

Happy Planning!

At Ohana's, if the kids don't like any of the food offered, you can request something else for them. They gave several choices (don't remember what they were, but my daughter chose grilled cheese and fries.

Terry from Hawaii

'ohana without a doubt. My kids like it when food comes right away. Buffets and family style are right up their alley

Another vote for Ohana! :) Sooooo good and so close to the MK that you're just a short monorail ride away! So its really very convenient. Plus, the atmosphere is great and you'll get to check out the Poly. And you don't have to be leery about not liking it! :)

OHana's BUT arrive early as check in there is a mess so will lose time there.:scared1: Food and servers excellent.:thumbsup2 Tony's good but to me like Fazolli's fast food Italian

As little as I like the idea of 'Ohana, I'd pick it over Tony's.

Tony's is just not a good dining experience. It's loud and crowded. The menu is boring. The food is below average in quality, which is inexcusable considering how generic the selection is.

At least 'Ohana has some originality going for it, and it has a really fun atmosphere.

We LOVE 'Ohana. I couldn't get dinner reservations for our last trip and really missed it. Definitely keep 'Ohana. It's fantastic. The kids will have a ball with the fun activities. I also think the food there is terrific!

Ohana would be my choice. We ate at Tony's a few weeks ago and it just wasn't good.

We have eaten at both and it is not even close- O'Hana's for sure. We didn't think Tony's was bad but it was just OK. O'Hana's is our absolute fave!!!!

Definately Ohana's. :thumbsup2 My kids really enjoy it there althought my DD (6) still eats a "picky eater" meal. ;)

Seriously, Ohana's check-in process can be a real nightmare. We waited an hour past our reservation time. Others have waited 30 to 45 minutes in a line JUST to check-in and get a pager, then wait more! The food is terrible. The noodles and pot stickers were cold, the shrimp were not deveined. The little bit of entertainment for children (pushing a coconut with a broom) was NOT worth it.... I have no idea why this place is popular except there's some undeserved hype, and it's a stuff yourself all you care to eat place for 1 dining plan credit.

If you really want to experience the Polynesian, go to Spirit of Aloha and pay out of pocket for Category 1 seating. Great food, beer and wine included, children get to hula dance on stage, fire juggler is awesome, and while the story line is a little silly, the whole experience fits with the whole Polynesian theme!

While at the Polynesian, make sure you take a walk on the beach... and you can take the boat to Magic Kingdom.

Ohana without question. Not only is Ohana one of the better places on property, Tony's is one of the worst.

You will wait at least 20 minutes past your ADR time for O'Hana plus getting to and from there from MK.

If you are going to dinner for a break from the park and don't mind spending a couple of hours away from MK then Ohana has great food and great atmosphere and I would go for it.

BUT if you just want to make sure you have something to eat for dinner without a fuss then stick with Tony's.

We just got back from a week stay at the Poly and Ohana was a disaster for dinner and breakfast (waited 30 minutes past our ADR for BOTH). Every time I walked by there were a lot of people waiting around with pagers and the check in line was long.
