Trying to decide if there is a particular plus/minus to the following dates:
Dec 23-30, 2022 OR 26-31???

We are traveling to enjoy the resort (Copper Creek) and check out other resort decorations, etc. Will go to parks a few times, but not every day. Just want to experience the fun extras and Christmas feel.

Will have kids with us - ages 9 and 5.

Any particular reason to pick one set of dates over the other? Trying to figure out if getting there before actual Christmas may be better. I know it will be crazy and busiest time of the year. We have all that info.

Thanks!

I would pick 23-30 solely based on the fact that you get 3 more nights. Magic kingdom has the New Year’s Eve fireworks for 2 nights so if you wanted to, you could still see them on the evening of the 30th and not miss out by not staying the 31st.
If staying 3 extra nights isn’t of particular interest to you, also look at the difference of flight prices to make the decision.
As far as entertainment and activities are concerned, the last 2 weeks of December are all the same.

Pointwise:
The night for Dec 23 is in a cheaper season so you'll save some points going the 23rd.

Travelwise:
I'm a huge fan of a travel buffer, especially if you're flying. There's so many cancellations that an extra buffer day doesn't hurt.

Parkwise:
It's a terrible time to go - in my experience. It's packed either way.

Resortwise:
There's rarely a crowd at the pool! Especially when it chilly....but you won't really want to be there either.

Kidswise:
It doesn't matter. We've been through that time frame and it doesn't make a difference to them. In their head, they're going to Disney during Christmas either way.

One last thing, logistics are easier on the 23rd. We hated showing up on the 25th or the 26th because of delivery for strollers, groceries, etc. really anything is slightly more difficult.

That said...we'll be there Dec 25-Jan 1st this year, yay fixed weeks!

I was thinking the earlier dates for the leeway it gives us with traveling. In case anything goes wrong with weather/flights, then we would have some room to maneuver.

I know it's gonna be insane, so that doesn't bother me. I'm going in eyes wide open.

Thanks for the advice!

I prefer NYE to Christmas Day in the parks, the festivities aren’t even comparable IMHO.

My favourite days at Disney are December 23-24-25. It is so festive and magical the days leading up to Christmas. Magic Kingdom on Dec 24 can’t be beat. JMHO Though.

OP -heads up enjoyed early dec at WLV this year in a studio.

At 11 months I wasnt able to secure it for next year. Did grab AKVJ tho.

i’m the odd duck who prefers being at home for actual holiday. Would pick trip starting on 26th as likely airfare will likely be cheaper then. Especially, if u can stretch trip into jan 1st or 2nd

We always visit from mid-December (usually around the 2nd Saturday-- Dec 17th or so) and fly out on the 30th or 31st). Days before the 24th are a little less crowded and less expensive. As the first poster wrote New Years' fireworks are practiced the night before and get to see them. Will try for a Riveria Resort Topolino's ADR to see the Epcot fireworks but not be in the thick of the crowd and an easy Skyliner ride back to our resort.
