I'll be at Disney the second week of December. I have only two park days. One will be MK. I'm having a problem choosing between AK and Epcot.
Which would you choose and why?
TIA for the input.

If the only choice is between AK & EP, I would go with AK and avoid the major construct in EP’s Future World. If DHS is added to the mix I would pick MK & DHS. Having only two park days can be tough to pick the “RIGHT PARKS”, whatever you end up choosing you can’t go too wrong, because you will be in WDW. Your planning ahead should help create a great vacation and don’t forget to have fun.

G'day

If you're really into Christmas, then Epcot for all their holiday things at that time of year. If not, Animal Kingdom may be a better choice since much of Future World is closed for construction.

If you like to eat, 100% Epcot. There will be a festival of the holidays, with lots and lots of food booths. I attended my first festival at Epcot last month and was blown away at how tasty many of the dishes were. I’d also vote Epcot because nearly all of its attractions are open. There’s about 6 rides in AK, one of them bring a water ride, and 9 in Epcot. AK’s two incredible live musicals are not open right now; and my bf and I finished the whole park in 2 hours. There’s just not much to do. Epcot, there’s a lot to eat, ride, and explore. The world showcase is fantastic and even though future world IS ugly right now the WS makes up for it. There’s also going to be a fair amount of live entertainment. We usually prefer AK to Epcot but with Covid Epcot was the better experience.

While I love FoP, I also love Soarin’. Maybe make a list of what you would like to do at each park and that will help tip the scales one way or the other. It would be hard to skip either, but you’ll have fun either way. Maybe also make a list of where you would like to eat/snack and that will help make the decision. With shows and live entertainment basically nonexistent, that may change what you would normally choose.

Normally, I'd say do Epcot for the Holidays Around the World. This year though, with the reduced park house I think you'd have to have a tight schedule of what you want to see and do in order to have enough time. While there is a lot of construction in Future World, none of the rides are down ( at least as of now. )

I think Animal Kingdom would be a nice leisurely day. And Pandora is something to see if you haven't visited that area yet.

Ride choice, AK hands down. Food is EP. I’m hoping Ratatouille is ready for Dec or I might even skip EP.

We can only do 3 parks in Dec, we are skipping AK. We decided EP for our 3rd park bc 1) food and 2) it has more stuff for my ride chicken. He won't do Dinosaur, EE, or FoP, so for us, it's a why bother at this point. If we could park hop, it would be different, bc I love EE and Satuli Canteen, and have never been able to ride FoP. Strangely, he loves TT, so there is a lot more for him at EP. This is prime time to try that, but with so many rides out for the oldest DS, it makes no sense.

For me it would be AK. It' my second favorite park, although HS is catching up. Epcot is my least favorite and the one I could skip on any trip. Of course I'm not a foodie and don't drink so a lot of the things that draws people there aren't really things that interest me. Of course my hubby would be all over the food choices as EP because he is a foodie.

AK is the winner for us. We absolutely love that park, being able to wander through the tropical lands, so much to see everywhere, the food, and of course the rides. We have always loved that park even before Avatarland!
I guess it depends on what YOU like. To us, Epcot is a half day and doesnt impress us. But there are many others who love both areas, it's just not our "thing". Have fun wherever you decide to go:)

Hollywood Studios lol. But since you didn't give that as option, I'd say Animal Kingdom due to all the construction in Epcot right now.

Normally, I'd probably pick Epcot. This year...you might go with AK to avoid the construction....however...that's what everyone else will also be doing.

My number one WDW advice is usually find ways to Zig whenever the crowd zags to get low crowds. Epcot will = lower crowds and a unique opportunity to see Epcot in construction mode. While not the typical postcard-worthy pics, seeing it right now is something rare. Plus, low crowds are extra good thing this year.

Animal kingdom is my favorite. We’re going in a few weeks and only get two days. We chose AK and MK. But I also don’t do alcohol or a lot of food so Epcot doesn’t have the same appeal to me.
