LOL well better there than on the bottom of the pool I guess. Thanks for sharing the pic!

Thank you!

I'm torn between Bay Lake & Wilderness Lodge & now I'm also wondering more about Boulder Ridge vs Copper Creek. I might start a separate poll to see WL DVC which people prefer. Decisions, decisions!

Eliminate BWV since all the 2 bedrooms are lockoffs.

Thank you! But.....what is a lockoff?

ETA: I just googled it....hmmm not sure I would like a lockoff-it seems kind of impersonal for a family stay.

Are 2BR lockoffs only at Boardwalk?

No there are lockoffs (1 BR plus adjoining studio) at lots of the DVC resorts but they will say in the description. It will say lockoff or it will say dedicated. Lockoffs usually are gone before dedicated because the studios book up.

Most resorts have both dedicated and lock-off two bedrooms. For extended family stays, I prefer a lock-off. That way if one group wants to turn in early, like parents in the 2nd bedroom/lock off studio and the others want to be out late, they don't disturb each other coming and going.

Yes that would be a good reason to have a lockoff that I have seen mentioned before - like having two separate rooms when you need it - the thing I prefer about dedicated is the normal beds in the bedroom rather than one bed plus a pullout (if we have a pullout my DD always ends up odd kid out on the pullout) but then right now we only travel in the same room with our 3 kids. Had thought about getting a grand villa for our upcoming trip with my brother and his family and then thought better of it - we have moments when we have trouble tolerating each other (DH, me and kids) on vacation much less my brother plus wife and kid.

We prefer the second bedroom to have two queen size beds (For me & DH in one & our two girls in the other). Does this mean I should be sure to choose a room that is dedicated?

What do they offer at the two WL villas & BLT?

All the resorts except for BWV offer both Dedicated and lock-off 2BR's.

But there is a plus at BWV in that the studio part of the lock off would have a queen bed for you and your DH, a sleeper sofa for one child and a pull down muphy bed for the other child so they wouldn't have to share. The Master is the normal set up with a king bed and it's own bathroom. The studio side (aka 2nd bedroom) would have a bathroom and a small kitchenette too with little fridge, coffee maker and sink.

I think I'd place BLT at the top of the list though for your group. I'd wait on BCV until the kids are a bit older as SAB has lots of ins and outs to it. Both BLT and WL/CCV/BRV have nice water play area.

And another exception is OKW, since the studios have 2 queen beds, the lock-off two bedrooms have 2 real queen beds in the 2nd bedroom.

I’d go with BLT in a dedicated 2 bed. You can’t beat the ability to walk to/from the MK and you can take the monorail to Epcot.

We went last year and took 3 kids (10, 8 and 5) and they loved it :)
